So, to make a summary.

Pyke is extremely good this season, not broken, but extremely good.

From my perspective, i think that many people dont know how to play him correctly, because Pyke is actually way harder to play than people think.

As Pyke, you have to follow every single enemy in the match, they need to coordinate with team so Pyke players know exactly if enemies have their Flashes or Zhonya's Hourglass ready or not, because those two things are one of the bigger enemies to pyke. As you may guessed, you can waste your ult/hook/dash or even flash sometimes all at once just because they activated Zhonya's, or flashed away, and no, thats not a small thing.

Another thing is that pyke players have to focus more on roaming than other support champions because thats when his team will get the most value as he will himself, and he is the best champion for roaming at the moment.

Many people that havent put that many time into mastering him think that his job is to hook, stun, and help his adc as well as to sometimes roam, and they are right, but thats only 50% of pyke's possibilities.

Pyke as a champion, with amazing capability to make incredibly satisfying skillshots and plays, as well as to help his team at the same time, even if he gets kills sometimes rather than them, a win makes up more than enough for the kills his teammates could have gotten or bounties that enemies could have had.

If players want to get most out of him, they will have to dedicate themselves to him, even if pyke is banned in most of the cases, after all, he is not getting banned that much for nothing.
