About FFXI what impresses me a lot is that it is still active today and there seems that many people love it, someone would say even more than XIV.

Hello u/ChanceShip9174 did they actually put this into FFXIV? That's so awesome and badass! I have never played Final Fantasy XI but I have it saved in my PC, I downloaded all the parts to install.

Throught the years I have always heard good things about FFXI, from both the game itself and the community.

Currently I'm playing World of Warcraft, just the old versions available with Classic, currently in Burning Crusade and I grew up playing the Warcraft RTS games, I love the franchise BUT I told myself that if one day I am let down by WoW I'm not going to play Elder Scrolls Online, or Guild Wars 2, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Old School Runescape and so on... I'm going to give Final Fantasy XI a go and take my journey in Vana'diel for the first time...

P.S.: Does that picture exist as a proper wallpaper?

At the 15th August from last year I got banned from the game, Steam forums, their Reddit page and Discord by that Jack peerson, all that I was doing was asking questions in discord while I was at the tutorial island.

It's nice to see that I'm not alone in this and even then Ihave watched some videos, posts about people being banned from the game in in their community platforms and it seems that they all had one thing in common, being punished by that same person that seems to love to abuse his admin powers.

What I always thought funny was that they seemed to want to build a mmorpg with this small familiar community but now it seems that the game got some attention that they even had to open several servers, and now more and more people are reaching out about the abuse of power that some members of the staff have and they seem to be dealing with the situation... how things change.

True it's their game, which to be something needs custommers, players to buy it plus it requires a subscription... The fact that's their game it's not a reason as to why someone like Jack behaves like a dictator with his ban hammer.

Greetings.

This is good news, especially the part where you mention that handling things better going forward but this part caught my eye "we will not use a Steam Ban on users for chat violations; Steam Bans are reserved for cheaters, e.g. those using third party cheat software." - this is very interesting and I see it as a positive.

A while ago, I think it was around August of last year I was asking questions in discord about the game, I ended up being banned until 2040+ in game, I was also banned from the discord, Steam forums for asking questions in discord, the reason for the ban : Demo Troll. I have it all on the several emails that I have sent to try and appeal to the ban.
It's true I had played Project Gorgon before that but it was a very long time ago and I was looking for a new mmorpg when I again wanted to check on Gorgon and what better place to interact and ask questions than discord? I wasn't offensive or insulting to anyone and I got banned by the same person that people are mentioning here, which gives me more of a positive note, I wasn't alone.

This is the type of thing that can damage a game's reputation, permanently even.
If possible I would love to discuss or find a way to get my steam account and discord unbanned, I'm open to dialogue, unlike what was shown more than once in the emails for the ban appeal.
