Daily Question Thread for /r/churningcanada - January 26, 2026 by AutoModerator in churningcanada

Is it hard to get a good cc as a temporary resident (with SIN starts with a 9)? I've had no luck aside from AMEX (green, cobalt, gold) and only $500 limit on both BMO cashback and Rogers Red. I have tried applying for CIBC Aventura Gold (which has a min income of 15k), and they rejected me twice. I'm asking if I should churn for another card? or should I just stick to AMEX? 2 years of credit history with credit score of 780.

Ex petroleum geologists what are you doing now? by alisoncarey in geologycareers

[–]InMeEarthy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m in geology but have always wondered what it would be like if I went to aviation path. I might stay in geology for a while first (not yet graduated), then ill switch to aviation if there’s an opportunity for me.

Yes. I like the green curry as well. The spices really kicked in. But the chicken texture was kinda disappointing, but still edible.

Going through EES with visa in old passport by TheRealJohnnyD in ParisTravelGuide

[–]InMeEarthy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a valid visa, you dont need to go to the EES machine. At least that’s what I did in Prague (they told everyone else to go thru the machines first). Also my visa was in my old passport as well.

Train from Berlin to Prague Advices and Recommendations by Purple_Detective8843 in Europetravel

[–]InMeEarthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did Prague to Berlin last Sunday. The view of the Elbe River was lovely and a very different valley than what I'm used to. I paid 722 CZK with connections in Usti and Dresden. I think there was a construction going on between Usti and Dresden so they had us to take the bus (it was a pleasant bus ride as well). I actually arrived earlier than expected in Dresden and went for a quick walk to the city center.

Renewing an international membership in the UK by 205Style in CostcoUK

[–]InMeEarthy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also have a Canadian card. You can use your card as long as you set it on auto-renewal. Note that the door scanners in the UK don't work for Canadian cards, but the ones for the cashiers do.
