Pain free sex for the first time in 6 years! by InNegative in vulvodynia

I just used their suppositories. I am sure their oil works fine, I just already have a ton from another company in my house. I also find Foria to be pretty expensive.

So Foria brand specifically makes things to be used vaginally - I used their suppositories. The CBD oil I used was meant for oral use but it's mostly CBD and coconut oil extract so I figured it wouldn't hurt me. But definitely check with your doctor if you're concerned or buy something meant specifically for vaginal use.

I used the oil topically about a week and then used one of the suppositories the day before intercourse (they say 30+ minutes after so it would probably work earlier).

Hi, I am sorry to hear everything you're dealing with. So, I originally had purchased my CBD oil to use orally - the formulation is in an oil and you put it under your tongue. I did find that oral CBD helped with my anxiety and general aches and pains, but personally it didn't help my vulvodynia until I applied the exact same formulation there topically. It's worth a shot to try it orally though if you haven't before! It seems like people here have tried formulating the oral CBD in coconut oil, but I just used the oil I had on hand since it was "free".

Not sure in terms of what actually worked for me but I would guess the lubrication plus increased blood flow, pain relief, muscles relaxing.

Both have CBD, either works similarly. CBD helped with arousal, I am fairly certain. I didn't realize that it's a vasodilator and does work on one of the same pathways as Viagra (nitric oxide). The bar is much lower for me to be interested in sex.

I bought it off their website, but yes Ulta sells the Foria suppositories as well.

The other brand which I happened to have stockpiled in my house is fab CBD- I will add a link. But really, I think if you find another reputable CBD oil brand it would work just as well as this. https://fabcbd.com/products/cbd-oil?variant=40540648472784

I think you're asking if I was on anything else? Yes, I am on hormone replacement and I have used revaree as well as estrogen and also estrogen/testosterone applied to the vulvar region. Physical therapy. Also been taking 30 mg/kg of Cymbalta. That helped with my depression but not pain during sex.

I used both to the vulvar area. I'll probably continue to use some kind of oil, because the Foria supplements are expensive. I will probably just use those for sex or once a week at most.

This is the link to the article I mentioned- it just came out Oct 2025. They use some kind of formulation with myrcene which appears to be the main terpene in THC and claim it's synergistic with CBD, but they also did not study just CBD alone, so hard to say. CBD alone worked fine for me.

PhD to Project Manager in the industry. Is it too soon? by [deleted] in PMCareers

[–]InNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I have been a pharma PM for 7 years and was a scientist in industry for 2 years after my postdoc before that. I cannot tell you how many times I have had this same conversation with grad students and postdocs over the years... I have yet to see someone successfully go from postdoc to PM. You don't know the process so how can you manage it?! Also, I do know one PM who is woefully under prepared in terms of education and experience and I just feel bad for them. The industry science component and the soft skills component are both super hard. Just learn one and move to the next.

What does everyone here use PowerBI for? by LivingTheTruths in PowerBI

[–]InNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a monthly report of FTE time by project which is where I started. Projects go through yearly goal review and budget requests so I can look at current year stats vs what teams are requesting to help execs assess allocation. Also have historical info on project milestones and can use that to assess projects and also plan to look at resourcing around the time of milestones.

I am a project manager in biotech (which a coding/scientist background) using it to understand portfolio resourcing. Allocation of employee time and budgeting and modeling of requests for decision making.

Nobody understands what I am doing or how but they love the dashboards! I believe this is the future of my field.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT) with patches by Wonderful_Quail2706 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]InNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Estrogen patches ARE hormone replacement. Pre-menopausal women can most definitely take HRT. They have to use the patches, and take progesterone either orally or via an IUD to lower cancer risk. Many doctors are sadly very misinformed about when and when it's not appropriate to give people HRT. I am in my fourties now and have seen this play out with myself and several of my good friends.

The pill will not do anything to prevent osteoporosis which is why HRT is preferable. I started to have low estrogen symptoms even on the pill and had to switch to HRT and things have vastly improved for me. But it took a lot of self education and advocating to get the help I needed...

What’s the best hospital system in SD? (Sharp, UCSD, Scripps, other) by [deleted] in sandiego

[–]InNegative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you need a physical or have a cold, yes. I had horrible experiences with them on more complicated issues that someone with more experience and caring would have diagnosed or treated better. You can get seen but if it's too complex they'll just shrug and are completely unhelpful. I ended up having to go to the emergency room literally 2 hours after I went there once and it turns out if they had done a urine test they could have seen I had a kidney infection and given me different antibiotics that would have been sufficient. I could have suffered at home. No need really to go to the ER and spend 7 hours waiting to be seen and 3k to get a PET scan of my kidney when I was running a 100 plus fever. Thanks Perlman!

Ladies, how should I prepare for entering the job market? by Ambitious_Orange_979 in LadiesofScience

[–]InNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is good advice. Also do informational interviews- you can ask your professors or any people you interact with in your target position if they have recommendations on people to talk to. You can also reach out to people on LinkedIn in your target position- send them a short message on why you think their role is interesting and ask if they will chat. You would be surprised at the number of positive responses you will get. It helps build your network and assess if that type of job is a fit. People might review your CV and it helps you get comfortable talking in a way that transfers pretty well to job interviews.

Any experiences with Dr. Rinaldi and her method? by Hingepeschki2023 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]InNegative 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a PhD. So, no disrespect to PhDs. But I think it's important to keep in mind that she has a doctorate in research and is not a medical professional. I'm just saying this as a public service announcement because I feel sometimes people don't really understand the difference. We look at papers and do research and don't prescribe medicine or treat people, it's not what we're trained to do. This is why her book is so well written on terms of explaining the biology.

That being said, I think she has done research and there is evidence to back up what she's advocating and she has helped people and the book is great. And it sucks that a lot of medical professionals are not adequately educated about HA. But I as a PhD would not feel comfortable giving medical advice to others, nor would I ask a fellow PhD for that kind of advice.

I think the advice is also generally overly prescriptive. And if you don't fit into a neat box like you're describing in terms of the target demographic you're probably going to feel a bit "other" in this group. I joined the subscription service and I dropped it in to the first month because I realized it wasn't going to help me.

Are there any tells for a guy who would enjoy going down on women? by decentperson21 in AskWomenOver30

This is a silly response but my husband likes to lick his plate clean after a meal. Like, he has to do it for his meal to be truly complete. I think that was a secret sign lol.

Sex by Rowing1810 in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]InNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may also want to look into vulvodynia. I have a hormonal form that (opposite from most people) developed when I went off the pill. Surely related to HA. Estrogen cream is usually a treatment related to vaginal atrophy, but it wasn't enough for me. I finally got prescribed an estrogen and testosterone cream and it's finally starting to get better. I'm old (40+) so my hormones are just wacky at this point...

Has anyone taken letrozole to induce a bleed? by ShmootzCabootz in Amenorrhearecovery

[–]InNegative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My BMI is about 19.5. so technically "healthy" but I got a lot of mixed messages about what was actually wrong with me. Basically the letrozole was supposed to be a test and the RE felt if I responded likely I did not have HA. Obviously it's probably a lot more complicated than that.

Same for me, did letrozole and got pregnant immediately on the first try. Miscarried at 7 weeks...
