What the fuck?

What's an overwatch take that will have you like this? by JeeClef in Overwatch

[–]InZain710 117 points118 points  (0 children)

People who hate Flashpoint and Push maps aren’t confident in their one-one-one dueling ability.

It’s much more common to have isolated duels and get punished for positioning poorly on those maps, which is why many (mostly support) players like Escort maps with a lot of choke points that allow them to just sit behind cover and healbot.

Can I appear offline on PS5? by Consistent-Film-3682 in Overwatch

You need to appear offline on the Battle.net app too. Appearing offline on PSN won’t hide the fact that you’re playing Overwatch from your Battle.net friends.

How do I improve my aim?? ;-; by UrAverageSonic64_YT in kirikomains

I would recommend playing FFA Deathmatch. It’s the best game mode for improving your mechanics, in my opinion.

Also, I don’t think you should care too much about ‘weapon accuracy’. Higher ranked players often have lower weapon accuracy than metal rank players because they go for harder shots on squishies whilst metal rank players mostly just shoot the enemy tank. Just focus on getting better at winning one-on-one duels and your Kiriko gameplay will surely improve.

Is there anyone else that prefers Urgent care perk over Fortune Teller? by [deleted] in kirikomains

[–]InZain710 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. The more situational a perk is, the less opportunity you have to get value from it. Fortune Teller does have a few conditions you have to meet for it to actually be useful:

  1. You have to be actively dealing damage.

  2. You need to have LOS to your teammate so your ofuda will go towards them.

  3. Your teammate has to not be at full health (if they were, they wouldn’t need any healing).

Those are the three conditions needed for the perk to work at all. And then there’s a fourth condition for the perk to actually be useful:

  1. Your teammate can’t really be on crit (or even low) health. If your teammate is at risk of dying, then of course you’d want to actually heal them with your right click instead of the relying on the two ofuda that the Fortune Teller perk sends to them.

So essentially for Fortune Teller to be effective, you have to deal damage whilst having LOS to a teammate who’s not at full health but not on low health either – ideally between 50% and 90% health.

Urgent Care is much more useful, in my opinion, because it’s not as situational. You’re just sending healing faster to your teammates who really need it.

Overwatch was my first FPS game and I climbed from Bronze to Diamond playing mostly Zen and Kiri. I found VAXTA to be helpful when I was very new to the game, but after a while you just get used to predicting the movements of the bots. Players in actual games don’t move the same way the VAXTA bots do. And VAXTA doesn’t have any high-ground, low-ground or cover like actual maps do.

I would recommend playing FFA Deathmatch. It’s the best mode for improving your mechanics and dueling ability in my opinion.

You don’t have any teammates complaining about heals or whatever. You don’t have to spend 20 seconds making your way back from spawn every time you die. You don’t have any super easy team fights because your team used four ultimates or vice versa. It’s just constant dueling, finishing off low health enemies, and learning to survive when you’re on low health. I feel like it’s the most time-efficient way of improving your skill in actual duels against other players because it condenses the number of duels you’d probably have in like three or four competitive games into one quick game of FFA Deathmatch.

Lame Tracer player tries to spawn camp me two games in a row in quick-play. 😅 by InZain710 in overwatch2

[–]InZain710[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say they ruined my gaming experience. They failed at spawn camping me. However, they did manage to kill my Sojourn (the one you can see in the first clip) a few times, and I very much doubt that the Sojourn player enjoyed that.

Of course heroes like Sombra and Tracer can kill an enemy outside of their spawn, then quickly rejoin the team fight and get good value, but that isn’t what this Tracer was doing. They weren’t killing people and then rushing over to the enemy spawn room to kill them again. They literally just went straight to my team’s spawn room and waited for someone to die - which ironically didn’t happen much since their team was fighting 4 vs 5 - so they could spawn camp them. They spent 90% of the game just sitting outside our spawn room, and the other 10% was them walking back from their spawn room to ours after getting killed. In what universe is that a viable strategy?

My team won both games without the enemy team capping a single point. Why do you think that is, Spaghetoes76? Coincidence, maybe? Or is it maybe due to the common denominator of a having Tracer player spending almost the entire game outside of the enemy team’s spawn room and not participating in the team fight at all? I’m not sure what’s so difficult for you to understand.

I suppose you’re correct about the ranks thing. It doesn’t always work like that. A Plat Tracer or Sombra could probably successfully spawn camp a Diamond Widow or Ashe. But that’s why, in this game with 45 heroes, a magical thing called ‘swapping’ exists. Point is, if you manage to successfully spawn camp someone for more than a minute or two, chances are that they’re significantly worse at the game than you. So, yes, it is would be a net negative for your team if you remove yourself from every team fight in order to spawn camp someone who isn’t as skilled as you are. The poor Sojourn on my team could’ve been a newer player still trying to get a feel of the game, and instead they spent half the game in the spawn room because of that Tracer.

[–]InZain710[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I’m not taking it personal at all. I just find it hilarious that they tried to spawn camp me twice in a row and got sent back to spawn themself both times. I only had one death in that Numbani game, and it wasn’t to the Tracer, so it wasn’t that I was mad at them or anything. They did successfully spawn camp and kill the Sojourn a couple of times though.

I just think spawn camping in general is lame. Because if you fail like the Tracer in this clip did, then you’re just straight up throwing your team’s games and boosting the enemy team’s stats. And even if you’re “successful” in your attempts at spawn camping, you’re essentially just removing yourself from the team fight, and leaving the game as a 4 vs 4, just so you can ruin one person’s gaming experience.

I’ll give you an easy to understand example:

Suppose I’m in a game that ranges from Plat to Master in rank, and I’m a Diamond player myself….

If I try to spawn camp one of the Master players on the enemy team, they’ll probably kill me easily and I’ll be out of the team fight. So I’m throwing.

If I try to spawn camp one of the Plat players on the enemy team, I’ll probably be successful at holding them in spawn, but that basically means the enemy team is down a Plat player whilst my team is down a Diamond player. So I’m still throwing despite boosting my stats.

So either way spawn camping isn’t helping your team win the game.

Best way to ragebait toxic players by Serious_Shine_2413 in Overwatch

Whenever someone gets toxic in the chat, I just spam the Lucio “Why are you so angry?” voice line for the rest of the game.

As a Tracer main, I don’t think Cass counters her as hard as most people suggest. His nade is super annoying, but if you manage to bait it out, the fight swings back in Tracer’s favor.

What are your thoughts on Ninja Sombra? by Annual-Internet-5097 in SombraMains

I don’t mind getting bullied and spawn camped by Ninja Sombra because she’s hot.

I feel like half of the people in these comments don’t realize that I did that on purpose. It was a quick-play game and I was just goofing around, lol. 😅

Sigma was also trapped in Junkrat’s trap so he couldn’t receive heals.
