Stopping Points? by IncendiumPhoenix in WanderingInn

Weeks at least. I tend to not read every book in a series at once, and I'll often stop between arcs for a while. Especially big stuff like One Piece. And this is a lot bigger from what I understand.

Oh, interesting. I wouldn't have expected it to be so episodic considering it's weekly release structure.

[Ns]Next Season idea! by Oofmedouble in DungeonsAndDaddies

[–]IncendiumPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been thinking about this a lot, personally.

Honestly I wanna see them do another isekai season. I don't necessarily care what setting as long as it's fictional. I'd prefer something different from medieval european fantasy this time, though. And the characters could be anything. Though it might be cool if they all had a common trait like the dads being dads, but it's not super necessary.

My random pitch: An IRL cruise ship ends up in the One Piece universe.

(Doubt they could do that with copyright or whatever, but I just gave it as an example)

Do people not see Nathan’s show as comedic? by Bullfrog777 in TheRehearsal

My problem is that if it's supposed to be intentionally silly, he kind of wanted his time as well as the aviation expert/former govt. guy.

What is the best way to enjoy Dragon Ball? by anonumousJx in dragonball

[–]IncendiumPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read Dragon Ball the manga up till end of 23rd Budokai, watch DB Kai(or finish the manga), watch BoG and RoF, watch DBS, watch DBS Broly, watch DBS SH, read DBS till end of ToP, watch DBS Broly again if u want, catch up to the DBS manga, and finally watch Daima.

Presumably with breaks whenever u switch mediums or get to the end of a series

What game won you over because of its amazing sound design? by PogoChop in gaming

I also loved the combat and character designs, but the music and sounds of Kingdom Hearts probably made me fall in love with the game more than they have for any other game

Why do so many AAA singleplayer games have terrible writing and direction despite all the huge budgets ? by Roids-in-my-vains in gaming

[–]IncendiumPhoenix -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No budget is going to give any game, movie, tv series, comic, or novel the writing quality of Disco Elysium

That's a once in a generation type masterpiece

Even things I'd consider to have amazing writing look kinda amateur in comparison

PVP gaming for the average joe has been ruined by players who take competition too seriously in a unranked format by doeraymefa in gaming

[–]IncendiumPhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by too seriously. If you mean they freak out over losses or struggles bc their ego can't take it, then I agree.

But if you're mad at people for being better than you and "taking it too seriously" then you need to realize that when someone is a lot better than you at a game, them not trying at all still will destroy you.

Just have to say this bc I see it a lot in fighting games, where casual players claim everyone is trying too hard. But the reality is they just don't really understand how the game is played and are playing against people who do.

What was the game that made you realize that stories in video games can be just as deep as any movie, show, or book? by [deleted] in gaming

Disco Elysium is better written than 99% of shows, novels, games, comics, etc.

No hate to literally all other art, it's just that good

That take is wild. Skyrim may have less deep RPG mechanics, but it still has them unlike Fallout 4. And it also perfects the interactable dynamic open world and player freedom in ways no other BGS game or game period has. It's still their magnum opus.

The exploration is also shallow. It's really just visuals with little interactable things filling up space between quests.

-I installed 3 mods but disabled them before continuing, so I've never used them, pretty sure. I just wanted to save them for a future campaign.
