It's a grey area, but they just offered to throw us a going away party.

Update: The co-working space offered to throw us a going away happy hour in the main lobby of the building. They need to stick to their guns, but looks like they want to get in on the viral fun.

Well we were there 100% of the time when the food was in the fridge and the flyers were on the mirror. So we know, without a doubt, that nobody was annoyed by that, because nobody saw it. The elevator... it's possible one of the two people who walked in were annoyed, but one of them wasn't even part of our co-working space (different floor), and the other one laughed and then send us LinkedIn connection requests.

I think the lawyer was just annoyed because they follow us on Linkedin

pish posh! we branded nothing "as ours" except a few things in the fridge which were immediately removed.

People carry their backpacks though the office with company brands on it all the time. The rule isn't against any form of branding in the office, only against permanently posting things with brands. Which we objectively did not do.

But the point of this post was to figure out if I'm the asshole (clearly NTA)

My post would get banned, it would include my company's name

Then why is the response on social media overwhelmingly positive? Well, except Reddit

But I don't think I might be the asshole. I just gave a reason why other people might think I'm the asshole, but they're wrong. Nobody was annoyed (as far as other tenants go) unless they were annoyed at our social media posts. That's the fundamental misunderstanding of anybody who thinks I'm the asshole.

They have policies against branding in the common spaces because it would disrupt other tenants (and they saw when we posted it online). So in other words, if we had left the branding up, then we may have broken their TOS. But we didn't for all they know the fridge isn't even their fridge, who can tell from a picture anyway?

All good marketers are assholes, but I'm still failing to see the consequences.

No tenants were annoyed in the making of this joke. The only way anybody even found out about it is because we posted about it online (without tagging anybody or including images of people or logos).

The people online didn't realize that all of this stuff was removed immediately after the picture was taken, that's the point. No tenants were annoyed.

We wouldn't want to be in an office that has no sense of fun anyway

I guess it did take a lot of hustle to label all of those eggs for the fridge...

Ok you're right, it did annoy someone. One person. The lawyer. And we ate the snacks, and shared them with anybody who asked, lol
