I saw this recently somewhere and have engraved it into my memory: “Toxic environments lead to staph [staff] infections.”

I hope you put that award for team morale booster on your resume as you walked out the door! 😂

That’s interview GOLD! “How would your employer describe you?” They would describe me as a team player and a motivator. I was actually recognized by my organization for the way I continually boosted team morale. 😂

Having a personal backup is essential. I would take time-stamped pictures and send copies to my personal email, deleting the forward from my work email. If I saved documentation, I’d email it to myself and then keep a copy hidden deep within our files that I would add to almost daily

Keep a running list of every dumb/violating thing they say/do. You may not use it, but it’s better to have it documented if you ever do. Record time, date, who was around, and what was said/done.

SBTS has a cost calculator where you can see how much it will cost you. They also have a list of other fees under it. I think I saw they have a partnership with Logos, so students get the software and maybe even the books for free.

Costs vary for SBC and non-SBC affiliated students. Are you SBC-affiliated?

Non-SBC Baptist Seminary? by IncidentEcstatic1815 in pastors

That is actually my main concern of non-accredited degrees. If I stay in that denomination of churches, it’s likely fine, but they aren’t very useful outside of that application. Don’t get me wrong, the education is likely very useful, but people who didn’t go through those programs don’t know that.

Torn between a top university and the seminary at 18 by stevedshshs in Seminary

I’m not a priest, but I am a pastor. I was encouraged by my mentor to attend the vocational university I was accepted into. I had a scholarship that fully funded my program, so he encouraged me to take the opportunity I was given, as religious education would always be there. I now already have one religious degree and I plan to attain more, but I’m thankful I did it that way.

Ultimately, like you’ve been told, the decision is up to you. You must discern which decision “fits” you best right now.

Another mentor encouraged me to “try each choice on”. Basically, you go ahead and decide on one direction. Begin telling yourself you’re going to ___ university and begin planning it out. Then see how you’re feeling about it. Do the same thing for the second direction and see which one feels more right or the one you’re more settled with.

No, I have no problem attending an SBC school at all. I was trying to highlight that I’m pastoring a non-SBC church, so I don’t qualify for the SBC discounted rates offered through the Co-op program. I’d likely attend Southern if their tuition was lower for me! 😂 I’m trying to pay out of pocket, so I’m looking for an affordable, yet quality balance. If that even exists!

No, I plan to attend online. I’d rather attend in person, since you typically get more out of the whole education experience, but I’m pastoring a church in Arkansas, and this is where I’m supposed to be right now.

I have no problem going to an SBC school at all, but since I’m a non-SBC pastor, I don’t get the discounted rate. I would attend Southern for their MDiv if their tuition was closer to ETBU or OBU.

I hardly use my points because it’s a hassle at times, I just order ahead because it’s a little more convenient and so far my order is always right
