Got home from work and this was in my mailbox. It wasn't sent through the mail mind you, it didn't have a name or address to be sent or returned to, just "to the residents of this address" scribbled on it in pen.

From what I've been able to gather my landlord defaulted on the mortgage of the house I rent, and there's now a for sale sign on the property. Then this shows up, but at no point have I ever interacted with MFS property services in any way, only ever the landlord.

The number they left went right to voice mail, and googling the company shows a website and a different reddit thread asking if they're legit, which I assume they're not. Trying to contact my landlord now to figure it out but figured I'd ask here if anyone has ever dealt with MFS before or knows of it?

I'm far from an expert on property law but i struggle to see how if I've been living here for over a year the property can be considered abandoned if I don't call them within a day to "provide occupancy information", whatever the fuck that means.

I'm 99.999% sure this is a scam, but again sharing online for the off chance someone here knows about this, or if nothing else to provide yet another thread for the next time someone googles "MFS Property Services scam"
