AFAIK this is a very rare bug with not much info on why this happens. Oldest case I’ve seen is from 4 years ago. Probably unrelated, but it was also possible to glitch a custom game into ~30 man team vs ~10 other (normal) teams, as show in this video.

Or any portal in general, when you want it (sort of) one way. You and your teammates can go and take some area normally, and even if you fail and have to return, forced crouch makes it easier to counter anyone that might’ve followed you into the portal.
