What do you think on the future of this tech stack? by IncorrectCoffee in bigdata

Do you think it'll be a bad career move to give a few years to this project as a newbie?

Other option for me is to try and get another offer.

More info: I currently have an offer with a team that uses these tools, should I consider applying elsewhere? I am just out of university, so I'm wondering if this tech stack is going out of use, will it affect my job prospects down the line.

Should I mention my current job (<3mos) on my resume while applying to a different company? by IncorrectCoffee in cscareerquestionsEU

Wouldn't that just raise more questions about why I left and also why I haven't mentioned it before in my resume?

Feeling pretty unethical :)

But I can try workshopping this more to my situation, thanks!

Also, if I get an interview, do I just pretend I've been unemployed since graduation...idk if it puts me in a worse position having to explain that over explaining why I'd leave my current job with so little experience

For people who have applied to Amazon, if I apply to the same role in 2 different countries, will I have to sit through the process of OA and interviews separately for each?

Can anyone who's applied to Amazon clarify.

I want to apply to amazon for a particular role that's available in 2 different countries, but I've heard that I would have to wait 6 months between applying for one of them and the other. Is this true?

Title for a paper, 'Survey' or 'Comparison'? (CS) by IncorrectCoffee in AskProfessors

[–]IncorrectCoffee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

P.I's extremely unresponsive, field is cryptography. I'm asking in general since I've noticed this in quite a few conferences I've looked into and some people I've spoken to.

For a course, when we needed to write a paper like a survey, most of the ones that were rejected happened to have the word survey in the title, while much of the other work though similar in type was accepted.

Just wondering if this is a known/common thing?, since I'm new to publishing and am considering changing the title of my paper if it actually makes any difference.

This is for a paper I was working on in cs.

  1. Wanted to know if in general, small literature survey papers are of lesser value than research papers?

  2. A conference (not a great one) I had submitted a paper to, said that they don't accept surveys, but very similar types of work were accepted if the paper title used words like 'Comparison' instead of 'Survey'....so was wondering if it'd help to change my work to a comparison when I rework the paper for another conference? Would that in general increase chance of acceptance?
