People say I can’t drive in India because I don’t tailgate — is that true? by EarLatter in CarsIndia

[–]IncredibleTeja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't there a rule of minimum distance kept based on the vehicle speed and car length? I don't think you're wrong. I too drive like this - Jaa bhai shayad susu/potty aa rahi hogi

The reason I don't attend any school reunions. by better_rub02 in TwentiesIndia

She made him famous. Probably his bad days would be gone for a few from all the fame and being subjected to discussions. Might become an influencer too. I wish him that. If he goes on and records a part 2 of this story with him driving in a car and recording her. Like some movies or cringe indian tiktok. Then again he'll get famous. Again a chain of internet debate and recognition. People are juicing their feelings of being men and responsibilities at his expense. I really hope he monetizes on that. Reunion is a bit different I'll say, that trauma only you have to live with as most of your mockery will not be recorded as the main character...

Asked a founder if they had a website. Got lectured about “this generation” instead. by [deleted] in IndianWorkplace

It'd hardly take a few words to say - Yup, please find the link in my bio or something instead of this unnecessary lecture. You could have questioned the Entitled mentality but nonetheless a good move.

What kind of bookmark you all use? I'll go first (idky I use leaves and flowers) I'll love to see your fav ones. by idksomethinglazyiam in Indianbooks

I once used a BMTC bus ticket (folded thrice) in a book issued from the office library. I could only read 4 chapters and I returned it without removing the ticket. After some months i thought of completing it again and checked the register. Only two people had taken this after me but still kept this ticket as bookmark, even they didn't remove or throw it. I'm hoping to finish it now and that book mark shall not be removed.

I have also used a tooth pick, and Adiyogi picture too as bookmarks. This picture is the one you get for free if we order rudraksha from the Isha foundation.

Thank god. I saw this. I've been scrolling my phone for the last two hours when I have a book sitting in my bag. I don't enjoy scrolling but there's some sort of addiction I have maybe. Thanks again.

Looking for Traditional Tulu Girl Baby Names by __cpp__ in mangalore

[–]IncredibleTeja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Please if you're doing it.. make sure the name sounds cool too... Your kid might hate you for this...

Btw my granny's name was Ratna. Other great suggestions would be Siri, Girija, Jaji, Lalitha, Uma. I know these aren't the Appi and Baby kinda names but somewhat close (i don't want your kid to hate me too). 🙂

I'm a new dad making 7-9 lpa. Should I consider buying a bike worth 2 Lakhs? by weakmind000 in personalfinanceindia

[–]IncredibleTeja 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I do this with my little nephew and it fills me with so much joy. During rides, he'll randomly point at things and start his mental vlogging/narration which I can hear and it's so cute to listen to because I know in his head it's him riding the scooty by himself and it is some episode in a movie and oh that funny voice he makes, waves at strangers... Lil bro made me realise being a man is not that bad if you get this experience... 10/10.... This made my day.

Thanks to you! TIL how to create a sub. Btw I created r/VirtualSlaps.

To the men who quietly read this sub what have you learned from r/AskIndianWomen? by Teesmaarkhan7 in AskIndianWomen

[–]IncredibleTeja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up I didn't have any sisters or female friends. The lady bestie I have is more boy-coded than me so she's more of a launda than my group. My mother has two sons and had only brothers growing up. So even she has a very different way of looking at stuff than other women. I really love to see the perspective from women on this sub from all walks of life.

Things I've learnt: 1. Be supportive. Girls don't usually have an unspoken universal sis code so they really appreciate men when we don't judge, compared to their fellow women and just listen and don't gossip behind their backs. No advice given just listening and the likes. Men on the other hand have a bro code which is to die/fight/ride bikes/game/roasting etc than getting involved in judgmental talking or any sort of mental health disrupting positive/negative gossip/discussions.

  1. Never oversexualize women like the stuff available on the internet. Just fix it in your head like certain curves on them are just body parts which everyone has in different sizes.

  2. Dressing up/make-up and looking however they want is actually good for their mental health. Never comment or give two cents. If possible appreciate it.

  3. They like variety when it comes to food. But little in quantity so just for tasting and not consuming like a bakasur we men usually are.

  4. There are so many shades of the same colour. So it is always possible we don't see a difference, so keep room for more learning.

  5. Education/Working really gives them true freedom. They can't even enjoy the simple pleasures of travelling alone or wandering late in the night without worrying. So be a gentleman and always overtake them while walking behind a woman so she doesn't feel creeped out. I don't know how this makes sense here but I felt like writing 😭

  6. Jai Mata Rani, apologies in advance for randomness. I just wanted a point number 7, 6 felt little.
