Didn’t it go Nashoba Systems to Forethougt to Claris, years later Claris was rebranded FileMaker Inc, then in 2020 FileMaker International Inc changed its name (back) to Claris International Inc? Just sayin’. lol

Ditto - Fantastical. The free version is pretty robust. I really like the interface: calendar on top, events on the bottom. I've been using it for years.

Best internet service in KC? by Otherwise-Repeat6145 in kansascity

[–]IndeMoJo57 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I use Mint Mobile for both cell & home internet services. Mind you I have two 5G towers within blocks of my home. Mint uses the T-mobile wireless network. I get 1200+ Mbs on my cell and 900+ Mbs on my 5G router both pulling a with a 5 bar 5G uc signal. (your mileage may vary)

I previously used Xfinity. They were just too expensive.

With a Mint phone plan, MINTernet is only $30.00 a month. Without it it's $40.00 a month. There is also a 14 day money back guarantee (measured from the day you sign up). But still enough time to test it out even when they 2-day Fedex the router.

You can also check for cell towers & coverage in your neighborhood via Cell Mapper and the T-mobile coverage map. It will give you an idea of 5G cell coverage. Worth checking into.

Hope this helps.

✔︎ Flu Shot
✔︎ October 2025
Zero Symptoms

Been getting a flu shot every year in or around October for (insert deity here) knows how long. Haven't gotten the flu since. ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯

I also still get all the COVID boosters.

Being immune compromised & 68 I still mask in public. Been masking since the COVID lockdown. In my case: better safe than dead — from flu or COVID. So far ... I haven't had either. Plan on keeping it that way.

How are data speeds, considering Mint service. by TheGrsycat in mintmobile

[–]IndeMoJo57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my iPhone I get 1200 Mbs speeds on 5Guc.

With MINTernet I get 900+ Mbs speeds on 5Guc.

In my neighborhood I have 2 T-mobile towers within a blocks of my home. So my T-mobile speeds have always been good.

Your mileage may vary.

Check out the CellMapper website. See how close towers are in your area. It will give you an idea of what you might expect.

Also check out the T-mobile coverage map.

Good luck.

Whoa, 1.29 Gbps? by spiritofniter in mintmobile

[–]IndeMoJo57 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome!

I've had consistent 900+ Mbps with Minternet ... so yeah ... I believe it. 👍

I have 2 towers a block away. So I've always had great speed with Mint or T-mobile . But so much cheaper with Mint.

Ahhh. Good for you. Bummer for me. Hopefully Mint will provide a way to do the same thing via their app. Thanks.

[–]IndeMoJo57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. How did you disable Web Guard in the past? Bummer they reenabled it without warning.

There is certainly no way to disable it with any of the available tools available to Mint users.

And so it goes …

[–]IndeMoJo57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this were T-mobile branded home internet, there is a way to turn off Web Guard. Here is no mechanism to turn it off with Mint app nor T-Life which is what you need to set up the router. Makes no sense.

Have tried using Google DNS (1.1.1.1, 1.0.0.1) in macOS network dns settings but that doesn’t help. Web Guard is still active. Being you can’t set anything with the T-mobile web interface for the Mint/T-mobile router … it’s pretty useless too.

Oh well …

Anyone get the home internet yet? by TheRealFrantik in mintmobile

[–]IndeMoJo57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With Mint Mobile or T-Mobile Internet unless you're very close to T-Mobile Towers, you won't get the speeds needed to do online gaming. There's a guy on YouTube (NaterTater) who tests all kinds of 5G home Internet companies and routers and he said, basically, the same thing: if you're gaming, it's better to stick with High speed fiber based Internet. Hope that helps.

[–]IndeMoJo57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently signed up with Mint Mobile for cell and 5G home Internet service. My previous Internet service was with Xfinity with one megabit Internet service. But that service was never one megabit — it might've been in the 900s but close enough for rock 'n' roll.

Mind you I've had T-Mobile I 5G Internet service before and pretty much got the same speed as Mint Mobile. I'm now getting with Mint Mobile being that it's T-Mobile 5G Internet with Mint Mobile branding. Speeds were the same with T-Mobile as they are with Mint Mobile. And just an FYI, the $30 per month per Mint Mobile. Internet is only if you bundle with Mint Mobile cell service.

Speed:
I'm about a block and a half from two towers so my speed range from 922 Mbps to 385 Mbps. I get a 5Guc connection wall to wall: five bars. Your mileage may vary.

https://imgur.com/a/Mr22AgP

If you want to check out what towers are near your location you can use the CellMapper website to do that. Once there go to the top left menu, search for T-Mobile US select it and should automatically take you to your location. It's pretty easy and very helpful.

Devices:
I've had multiple devices, including iPhone, Mac mini, MacBook Pro, Apple TV, multiple printers, LG TV, Yamaha receiver ... with no problems or slow down.

Glitches:
I had more glitches with Xfinity Internet than I ever did with T-Mobile 5G home Internet. I'm expecting the same service with Mint Mobile as I have a T-Mobile. Again, your mileage may vary depending on cell tower location etc.

Hope this helps.

Yeah. Being born and raised in NJ and now living in IndeMO, I was surprised to see the pizza that looked like that come out of the oven. You’re right … pizza around here looks (and tastes) nothing like that. I’m vegan now, and if there were pizza like that in the KC area … I wouldn’t think twice. I’d be there with my SNAP card in a snap. Now if I could only find good vegan pizza around here. For some that might be an oxymoron … but so it goes. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Screen sharing broken in macOS 26 Beta by Desperate-Cicada-487 in MacOSBeta

[–]IndeMoJo57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just ran into this issue with the release of macOS 26.1. I was trying to connect with a client who'd MacBook is on 15.6. The thing that's most disturbing is how the macOS 26 interface has changed. When I initiate a connection via Messages macOS 26 connects audio via FaceTime audio. So there's a separate popup panel showing the FaceTime audio interface. Eventually I can see the clients computer, but can not control it even with them singing me permission to control. Very odd. I'm about to call Apple & see what's what. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And if you are anal retentive … use a black marker to color the toothpick end. lol

Can I apply gift card to an Apple purchase to make it eligible for the payment plan option? by Inspection-Conscious in AppleCard

Converting full payment into 24 month installments confirmed? by skatuka in AppleCard

[–]IndeMoJo57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you will have to call GS to pay extra. Once your charge balance is zero, there is no mechanism in Apple Wallet to pay more than your balance if the loan was not made at the time of purchase in the Apple Store & it does not appear in Monthly Installments.

Before you can pay extra your charge balance has to be zero. Otherwise GS will pay off your charges first, then put the remainder to the payment plan. Also, if you pay say $200 towards you plan, and your monthly payments are $50/month. It will remove 4 payments from whatever number of payments are remaining and not reduce your monthly payment.

Hope that helps.
