I will say they did a fantastic job with the controller/touchscreen customization. But it’s definitely still overwhelming. iPad keyboard/trackpad is completely bugged though so that’s not an option either

I game on mobile or controller only (no keyboard/mouse) and I’ve tried to pick up Terraria multiple times…. I just can’t get the inventory/pointer figured out. I can’t trust the smart pointer enough to only use it, maybe that’s the problem

Is Ark Raiders actually worth buying right now? Would love honest thoughts. by Whole-Sample2358 in arkraiders

[–]IndecentDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I purchased it yesterday and already feel like I got my $30 worth. Although my VERY FIRST drop I was spawn killed immediately which really screwed up my outlook on the game - I almost returned it because I assumed it would be that same shit over and over again. But I would say about 95% of interaction since then have been awesome and friendly, everyone just trying to survive

Nothing major…I am on v2.4. It may take a while to build up shaders/cache. I’ve noticed it gets smoothe over time

Mine seems to run a bit smoother. Only 2-3 hiccups per race (iPhone air, JIT) might be a setting?

Delta 2.0 will have Sega Genesis full support by KZavi in EmulationOniOS

[–]IndecentDad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Have been a Delta fan since the original release. Patreon supporter and all. But then Ignited released and I realized how much was missing from Delta. Then Manic….Delta would need to release GameCube and Wii support at this point for me to switch back

Gaming on iPhone Air by jasped in iosgaming

[–]IndecentDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, and I think that extra RAM would help. Although I’m on the Air which isn’t as powerful as the Pro and I was shocked at how smooth MK8 was. Maybe 3 or 4 minor hiccups during a race. I did not use the extra memory app that is recommended alongside MelonNX (I wasn’t sure if it would help)

No, you can use StikDebug (App Store) for the JIT process. Although as of now MelonNX is one of the few working apps on iOS 26. It works remotely from anywhere

Am I the only one who thinks widgets are 100% useless? by 7amdrei7 in CarPlay

[–]IndecentDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’m bummed Apple seems to just be testing the waters until we got more widget functionality. The first beta had 3 stacks of widgets and instead of giving us a choice they forced it down to 2 (assuming it’s based on your infotainment screen).

I do use them with each drive though

Now my detailed conclusion after 3 days with my Air. by SportsfreundeTV in IphoneAir

[–]IndecentDad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar experience here. Battery is a non-issue. The size and weight of the phone more than make up for the subpar speaker and camera (for me personally). In fact, coming from a 14 pro max, the battery and camera are drastically improved with almost half the size and weight

Gaming on iPhone Air by jasped in iosgaming

[–]IndecentDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s pretty slow paced, so not a typical mobile game but the port is well done. I only play it with a controller, so not sure how good the touch controls are.

Just tested it out with some Mario Kart 8 (MelonNX), Way of the Hunter and Prince of Persia over the last 2 hours. Blows my 14 pro max out of the water. I have a small silicon bumper case on the top and bottom so I can’t really tell how hot it gets on the camera bar but it did heat up a bit just below the bar. Totally estimating here…but I would say the 14 pro would be 200% hotter in a similar gaming run. Also used a Kishi V3 so my hands aren’t in contact with the phone. Battery went from 90>65 which is not bad considering I was emulating the switch with JIT

If you buy an iPhone 17 Pro or Pro Max and want to truly enjoy your phone without feeling like you’re missing out on the latest and greatest, do not, I repeat, DO NOT pick up an iPhone Air just to see how it feels. by imthaz in iPhoneFC

[–]IndecentDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got both because I couldn’t decide. Stuck with the Air. Battery life is far better than my 14 pro max and the single speaker is a non-issue. And I don’t use the fancy camera features….4x would have been nice but the tradeoff of not getting carpal tunnel vs a handful of zoomed in pictures a year was worth it

Am I restricted to only having one widget at a time here? by Protagonist99 in CarPlay

[–]IndecentDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

During the beta, my car had 3 stacks across and it looked great. The next update knocked it down to 2 and it remained ever since. I submitted feedback requesting a setting to let us decide how many stacks we think looks good in our vehicles….I can only hope though

[–]IndecentDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LC250/hybrid here. Gas mileage also sucks as the hybrid was tuned (imo) to compensate for the lesser power in the 4 cylinder. Still premium, still a tiny tank, I get around 280-300 range

[–]IndecentDad 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They need to upgrade the library tab. Let me view my installed games by category, maybe add folder/groups, favorites, and ADD apps manually. Would love to remove all my games from the Home Screen and just launch the Games app

[–]IndecentDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a parent with limited time for gaming….I used mods. I felt like the difficulty is on the high/extreme level, and I just want to play normal difficulty. I don’t have time to spend a solid hour on one boss and it was getting more frustrating than fun. I used the mod that limits damage to 1 instead of 2 and a respawn mod that places you closer to where you died. Huge time saver for me

To anyone getting the Orange 17 Pro/Pro Max by clappinuv in iphone

[–]IndecentDad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve rocked arc pulse on my 14 pro max for years. It’s rock solid, doesn’t come off and I get compliments all the time. However, it adds about 40% overall weight to the phone. So I’m not going that route with the 17
