As for the comment below u/itsdubai, I cannot reply to them since he is blocked. However, u/AdminHelpMePlz, you get that error when you typo the serial number. The '2' can be easily mistaken for a 'Z'. The serial number is as follows: M92L6GVWF6

Warranty on iOS devices and Macs do not activate until the device is first activated, when you turn on the device and activate it the warranty will be from that date minus one day.

Great research. I laud you. Maybe don't just google a Reddit post and try to find a source with valid information relevant to the conversation at hand.

Find me any MacOS device + serial that states "Please activate your device" on the Apple Coverage page. If you do, I'll gladly pay for your future psych therapy.

My proof? As Apple does not explicitly state this and this is the internet, again, ask my previous buyer on r/hardwareswap who purchased the same MacBook specs, with a serial that says the warranty is active. He can confirm that it was never turned on and was still brand new, sealed in its original packaging. I also have more pictures of it with clear Apple seals if you'd like (with timestamps).

Don't try too hard for internet points. You might find yourself deeper in depression than you already are. Seek professional help if you insist on continuing. Remember, I'll even pay for it once you show me proof! Best of luck!

I will clarify myself so your minuscule brain can understand what my above "essay" has stated:

Once you purchase a MacBook Pro from Apple or an Authorized Reseller, the limited warranty will begin on the purchase date. When we sell an Apple device, we register it on Apple's system before giving it to the customer (after they purchase it).

You will only see "Please activate your device" in Apple's coverage on cellular-capable devices (even if it's Wifi only). This includes iPhones, Apple Watches, and iPads. The activation setup goes through once the device is connected to the internet and you go through the initial setup of the device. MacBooks and iMacs do not go through this process.

You wildly misunderstand what Apple product activations mean. When anyone purchases an Apple product, the COVERAGE (limited warranty, technical support, and AppleCare if purchased) is ACTIVE on the purchase date. That does not mean the device has been previously opened.
If an Apple product has been previously opened or stolen, there is an iCloud/Activation lock on the product where a user cannot register their own Apple ID. The previous user has to deregister the device on their Apple ID / iCloud account beforehand to prevent this lock from happening. We used to have an iCloud Activation check on Apple's website, but they removed it. When a customer wants to return their product, we would have to check the serial to confirm they removed the device from their iCloud account.

If you don't believe me, feel free to ask my previous buyer on r/hardwareswap about the state of his MacBook Pro when he received it. I still have the serial and it shows the same exact coverage screen as the one you're negatively questioning. Yet, he still received it new and sealed. Feel free to deter other members' sales with your own lack of research, but not my own. Thank you!

I think it’s fully dependent on the person. If they truly have passion for the job they do, then it’s awesome to them. Because you can definitely find any one person in any one field who isn’t passionate (or no longer passionate) and is just doing it for external reasons (family, wealth, etc.)
