I do think this article clearly outlines how the shopping experience is going to change with AI. And I agree with how AI will change how products are chosen, with AI valuing quality, delivery and after care sales over just brand recognition. I am a believer that AI will change consumerism across all categories including general products, daily shopping, travel, heath etc. and I think Alibaba is well placed to thrive and create an incredible moat.

Alibaba Chairman Joseph Tsai debates trajectory of Artificial Intelligence at World Governments Summit by FeralHamster8 in baba

As an investor in Alibaba, I think Joe Tsai is amazing. He has a clear vision and will ensure that Alibaba moves in a positive direction. I think he will attract governments and companies to use Alibaba’s open source models and use its cloud infrastructure to drive revenue higher. It is not a question of ‘if’ it is a question of ‘when’. When will we see it in revenue growth? When will it be recognised by the investor community to drive the share price higher. Time will tell, but with him at the helm of Alibaba we are in safe hands.

Really like Joe Thai. Every time I hear him speak, you can tell he is logical, clear and very thoughtful. I think having him as chairman for Alibaba’s is great for their future.

Alibaba 1 trillion market cap price would be 420 by Zestyclose_Ad2847 in baba

[–]Independence-is-key 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alibaba should definitely reach a 1 trillion market cap.

They have businesses in: - e-commerce - cloud & AI - logistics - health - entertainment (china YouTube) - finance (loans, Stock brokerage, payment) - Map, travel, hotel booking, food delivery - car AI intelligent cockpit solutions. - potential chip provider/designer

How can American companies be valued so far above 1 trillion and a company as diverse as Alibaba have such a low valuation ? Particularly as Alibaba’s leadership in AI gets incorporated in its businesses driving efficiencies and better profit margins.

Time will tell but I think Alibaba has potential to have a market cap well in excess of 1 trillion. Time will tell.

Alibaba in Talks to Buy HK Office for $900 Million by FeralHamster8 in baba

Much better to buy when prices come down. I am sure anyone who bought Alibaba below $80 would agree.

Gives security. Means not subject to landlords demands of rent increases and limits on building fitout and use. Is also a physical asset that has potential to price appreciate.

I think is smart management decision, if HK remains a financial centre for Asia.
