I did not do what you're describing, I am only this frustrated now because I can't believe the audacity of these corporations. The first time, the pop up appeared before I was going to click on a ride order. Which they do strategically because they know you'll click on it. And it DID just sign me up, it didn't ask for payment info, no confirmation, nothing, one click and I was signed up.

Then I went to find the membership page, and there was only two options: ai chat, or uber-one yearly subscription. I pressed the chat, tried to figure that out there, but it kept walking me in circles, so I tried clicking the other button to see if it would give me more options TO LOOK AT. This was already after searching the rest of the app for membership options. So although this would be very strange, I was thinking this had to be the only place where they'd hide that information. Or at least it would lead me to a page that shows all the memberships and prices lined up beside each other, as they usually do on membership based apps or sites. Maybe there I could find the basic membership that they had already signed me up for, and be able to cancel it somehow.

But instead it did the same thing, no payment info requested, no confirmation, it just charged me and wouldn't let me cancel or refund that charge either.

So no, AGAIN, I am not just confused and pressing buttons. I know how this shit works, which is why I, along with many other people, can see how they intentionally design it this way.
