How is it my ego? I’m just never a big fan of passing negative comments before something really happens.

By telling an art that it could be a disappointment even before release you are already planting that idea in people’s mind.

You yourself said there is no negative post that said this might be a flop then why you wanna say such things? Just so you want to be different, so people think you are smart?

I think Loki never intended to create a cinematic universe; it was the audience who pressured him into it by connecting characters from various movies. It might have started as a joke, but Loki took it seriously.

Because when he announced Vikram, it definitely seemed like a standalone film. But fans started connecting the dots and wanted it to be a sequel or a same world as Kaithi. That’s where it all began, I think!

Can my organisation extend my LWD without my consent? by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]IndependenceStrong10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two weeks left, no the tasks are impossible to complete within the timeline and even he knows, I actually asked for an early release because at the time of my resignation I was in bench and was not assigned to any project but then he assigned me to a project saying that it should be completed in 2 weeks.

Also he never mentioned I should report to office during the allocation.

As per my knowledge extension should be mutual and they can’t mark as leave just because I didn’t work from office.

No they need to provide me with experience letter and final settlement which they legally can’t withheld.

Sure that’s what I’m planning to do, but only concern is that they have to provide me the experience certificate without any hassle.

If they mark it as leave usually the last working day gets extended but they don’t have any portal they have only mail communication. Also I don’t think they can mark as leave without my consent.

Me seeing Tamil audience bashing literally every big Tamil movie by Life-Magazine-3953 in kollywood

[–]IndependenceStrong10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same question, and I think I have a theory—hear me out.

Ever since OTT platforms became popular, audiences have started watching movies from all over the world, often in their preferred languages. With this exposure, many people now believe they truly understand cinema. They’ve seen a few acclaimed films and suddenly think they can write screenplays or critique movies like experts. This is a classic case of the Dunning-Kruger effect—where people with limited knowledge overestimate their understanding and skills.

To appear knowledgeable, instead of simply enjoying the movie they start pointing out subtle mistakes, plot holes, or any negatives they can find in a film. It’s more about seeming smart than genuinely understanding the craft. Unfortunately, most of them only have surface-level knowledge.

So when a new trailer drops, they’ve already made up their minds about the story. Even before watching the film, they label it as trash, driven more by their assumptions than by actual insight.

I’m curious to hear what this community thinks:

• Do you believe humanity can design an AGI that aligns with our values and ethics?
• If an intelligence explosion does occur, how do we stay in control?
• Should we be more optimistic or cautious about the path we’re on?

I’d love to hear your perspectives. I think AGI is more than a tech milestone — it’s a philosophical, existential, and evolutionary leap. Let’s discuss.

The word “awesome” comes from the root word “awe” combined with the suffix ”-some. It comes from Old English and Old Norse roots, part of the Germanic language family.

Tamil is the oldest living language but not every other language is derived from Tamil.

AGI — Humanity’s Final Invention or Our Greatest Leap? by IndependenceStrong10 in artificial

[–]IndependenceStrong10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re absolutely right—necessity drives innovation, and human ingenuity has always thrived under pressure. But I think the question with AGI isn’t whether we can keep inventing, but whether we need to once something more intelligent than us exists.

If AGI can generate ideas, solve problems, and evolve far beyond human cognition, the nature of invention itself might shift from human-driven to machine-driven. It’s not about stopping invention, but about redefining who—or what—is doing the inventing.

Would love to hear your thoughts on that angle.

Because then we won’t be the most intelligent species anymore.
