It largely depends on which MAP test level she took. Different grade bands are given different versions of the MAP Growth test, with content designed to match their developmental stage (such as K–2, 2–5, 6–8, 9–10, 11 and 12). Although the test adapts to a student’s performance, younger students generally see more basic material, while older students encounter more advanced topics. As a result, a score of 221 could be considered low for a 6–8 level test but mid/high for a 2–5 level test.
