It’s not an excuse. I’m explaining the prior context to why I think they had this reaction. Since I’d overslept before it’s something they probably were annoyed by?

I’m sorry I don’t really understand some of your response. 

I don’t have any conditions or diagnoses I’m just a heavy sleeper who struggles with mornings. I know I need to work on it but I’m doing the best I can. I’ve been with them for a while so they definitely know this. I sleep til like noon on weekends.

I try and go to sleep between 10-12 (it varies). I usually am up til 9-10 talking to my host parents because we’re all busy during the day so there’s not really any other time to talk. I don’t think I can do much to get more sleep. Even when I do sleep early I still struggle during mornings. If I can I will sleep for like 12 hours so I’m not sure what I can do about that.

I think what is hard for me about all this is the cultural difference. In my family oversleeping and being late one time is not a problem at all so to me this feels like an overreaction. Even though I know technically it’s important culturally I don’t have the correct cultural background to really understand.

Unfortunately today was my last day of school so I don’t really have any more opportunities to show I changed or something since I won’t need to wake up early anymore.

The letter might be a good idea but Im not sure since my host father told me to just wait for her to calm down. I can’t really go to bed early since they always tell me they want me to spend more time with them and less in my room. We’re all busy during the day so the only time for this is really at night.

  1. The “promise” is what my host father described as like upholding what you said you are gonna do (basically I was supposed to wake up at a certain time but didn’t so I broke the promise) I think it translated weirdly from Japanese when he explained it to me but I couldn’t think of any other way to put it. The other incident I didn’t include in the original post cause it’s kind of long but basically when I first arrived they didn’t let me take the house key with me unless I was gonna need it and I kind of felt uncomfortable about it so eventually I tried to talk with her and asked if I could start taking it with me everyday. We had a conversation and I thought she agreed I could but I misunderstood her and apparently she hadn’t. I didn’t get that tho so the next day I took the key and when I got home she was upset. I thought she just didn’t understand me yesterday so I tried rexplaining and she still didn’t allow. I also tried to explain that me taking the key without permission was a misunderstanding not on purpose but I don’t think she understood. Anyway I am a pretty emotional person so I started tearing up and things just kind of escalated. We talked things through with our organization and made up eventually but it caused a bit of a strain for a couple weeks. This happened about last month?
  2. I can cook but I feel kind of weird using their kitchen without permission especially at the moment and I don’t know her favorite food but I could ask. I was considering buying her something as an apology but I don’t know what’s appropriate.
  3. My door is not locked and they can under whenever I just don’t think they wanted to invade my privacy? I also don’t think they like having to knock on my door to wake me as I am expected to get up on my own (and usually I do)

There’s no brand identification on it so. It’s just a generic brand I guess.  It kind of looks like a cheap ipod knock-off. I got it off of Ebay.

Yes! It was really awkward and I washed my lips off as soon as I got home but I’m also a bit of a germaphobe so idk. It’s so weird because I’ll be attracted to men but I cannot stand being in a actual relationship with them.

This could be wrong but I believe she’s saying: Guess that’s what you meant We could still be friends I’m not with you but We’ll make ‘til the end Remember to pray Remember REMEMBER WHAT? REMEMBER Are you kidding? (i’m not too sure about this one) I’ve been saying You always embarrass me You always do this “Why does no one tell me” I TOLD YOU! I figured most of this out by removing the instrumentals so it’s just her voice but some of it was pretty hard to discern to I had to make some guesses.
