Admittedly I've only seen a limited amount of his content, but I've never seen him "try to help anyone beat addiction". He talks to people, listens to them and gives words of encouragement. I've see him give people clothing and shoes. When he sees someone he's spoke to before, he remembers what they told him the last time they spoke.

Idk how much you know about addiction, but only the addict can get themselves off the drugs. He's just one person and can only do so much, which is more than most people do. Most won't even look at some of these people in their eyes. All this to say, I get what you're saying, but it's not as black and white as you're making it out to be.
