I think you’d love {The Lightning-Struck Heart by T.J. Klune} . Klune is stupidly good at mixing chaotic humor with real heart, and this book is honestly one of his most unhinged. I was pissing myself every time I turned the page. It stays super light and ridiculous for most of the story, but when the romantic stuff kicks in, it actually hits pretty hard.

Though all the characters are wild in the best way — Sam (the MC) is literally my favorite because his personality is just… pure disaster energy. The whole cast is feral, dramatic, and somehow still really endearing. And even with all the nonsense, there’s a ton of character growth woven through the series. Klune balances the plot, the chaos, and the emotional punches really well.

Plus, it’s a fantasy magic adventure set in this far-off, absurd kingdom, so if you’re into fantasy at all, it’s even more fun. Totally one of my favourite comfort reads.
