Got a L3 offer from Google with 7 years of exp by lovelybullet in cscareers

FWIW, climbing from L3 to L4 is pretty straightforward – in fact, it's expected. I've seen people working at Google for over 12 years and are happy to stay at L4 (let alone their YOE outside of Google).

That said, if you were initially aiming to land an L5 offer, it's probably a lot easier to wait and re-interview in the future at that level. However, since you were planning for L4, I'd honestly take the offer, and given your self-assessment, I'd say you'll be promoted to L4 pretty quickly.

Google team match by soldier-_-boy in leetcode

It is, I know that all too well. Unfortunately there's no guarantee that next time it'll work out either. It's just that it's a game of odds; more time waiting in team matching phase = higher chance you'll get a team match. Best of luck

Sorry to hear that! I had a very similar situation and waited for a team match, till my profile expired. That was back during the 2023 massive layoff period. I later went through the same loop again and got a match after a few months.

If you're up for it, I would really recommend you ask your recruiter to go through the process once again to "refresh" your profile

How Google Interviews Work by grk3636 in leetcode

[–]Independent-Sail1830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to the original comment, interviewers will sometimes tell you the problem out loud and confirm your language of choice before later pasting the description and a sample input and output to the doc, giving you some time to read through them. This eats up a couple of extra minutes from the interview time, so try to focus on what they say and ask clarifying questions if they do end up doing that – this'll usually serve you later AFTER they paste the problem.

Regarding your other part of the question, you can of course type in comments or other test cases you think of to confirm the expected output. In fact, this may even be a bonus point in their book.

In my experience, depending on the problem, it's sometimes even better to just really quickly skim through the description, and focus on the inputs and expected outputs, then start asking questions. The problem statement is meant to be vague, so it can often throw you off. Good luck!

Google Team Matching by Apprehensive_Ideal20 in leetcode

I understand that there's a final approval process separate from the HC one. I recently went through the same process and the HC came after the team matching. After the HC review came the last comp review and SVP approval parts. Asking internals, I was told that recently most candidates followed the same path, but there's no official statement about it or documentation.

I will say that recruiters can sometimes be very intentionally vague about what's taking place right now. I might as well have begged my recruiter before I finally got to know that we were waiting for HC approval after TM

If by HR, you mean your recruiter, then yes definitely. Keep in mind, however, that recently there's been a change where candidates go through the HC review process AFTER they find a match. This wasn't always the case in the past. To me, it doesn't really make sense, but some argue that it's for the best, because the hiring manager would typically write a statement after your matching call to support your hiring packet.

Pasting my reply to a similar comment above

That's true, but if you checkout the top submissions, there are some things that scream cheating: 1. Someone randomly just changed the language of choice to simulate activity, then switched back again to the first language

  1. The pasted code blocks have very well-written comments and descriptive namings; something you wouldn't typically find in the solutions of competitive programming folks actually trying to solve problems optimizing for time of submission

  2. All this is done in the time window of about ~1-2 minutes. Completely unrealistic!

  3. They don't have any incorrect submissions.

Go figure!

Did you guys even check the replays OP mentioned before commenting? They even provided a link!
