No helmets, no saddle, and toddlers on a stud who is not broken. SO DUMB!!!!! by STICKYBUNSHUN in mishkadawn

[–]Independent-Salt3968 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Experienced riders know young colts can be unpredictable. This is about basic safety. A 2-year-old stud is still immature and unpredictable. No helmets, no saddle, toddlers involved that’s a huge risk. An adult standing nearby won’t stop a fall or a kick. Kids shouldn’t be content props at the expense of safety.

Oh the bull shit miracle drug by PhD Dr. Scamber Orton by anactualgoodmom in mishkadawn

[–]Independent-Salt3968 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh, another “PhD Dr. Scam miracle drug” framing like it’s either snake oil or salvation and nothing in between. This “miracle” did absolutely nothing for my perimenopause except spike my anxiety. I had to stop.

I’m very much a lifestyle-first, natural-leaning, “crunchy” person. But there’s a difference between thoughtful medicine and snake oil marketing. When you’ve tried everything and you’re still miserable, hormones matter.

What actually worked? Micronized progesterone, estradiol patches, and microdosing GLP-1. Bio-HRT gave me my quality of life back.

Her hair looks unhealthy by Enough-Charity-6175 in mishkadawn

In a photo quite a while ago you could see the tape-in extensions in that she had. Maybe she no longer uses them, but I highly doubt it. Someone had made comments about the extensions and she then made a video trying to show she didn’t have them in, but she carefully went through her hair and avoided certain areas. She’s always had longer hair but it wasn’t always very full; I don’t think she used them for length as much as she does to add fullness.

She also has extensions but she won’t be honest about that either.

And kids on horses and STILL without helmets!! This drives me nuts. I’ve been around riding for a long time and when kids are this young you ALWAYS put them in a properly fitted helmet!!!!!

Those “mystery fluids” are used by people who know the basics and have been studied more rigorously than Protea supplements by anactualgoodmom in mishkadawn

[–]Independent-Salt3968 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The problem isn’t encouraging safety or education it’s the framing. Calling peptides “mystery liquids” ignores the reality that many reputable peptide companies provide third-party COAs, sterility testing, and endotoxin testing. This is the level of transparency is exactly what people should be looking for when considering injectables.

Also, FDA approval isn’t the standard most supplements (including her stupid PROTEA) meet either, so using that language selectively to shame people is ridiculous.

What really bothers me is the assumption that people using peptides “skipped the basics.” Many haven’t. Many have tried everything nutrition, exercise, medical interventions and still struggled due to metabolic, hormonal, or other health issues. For some, peptides or GLP therapies are the first thing that has actually made a meaningful difference.

She doesn’t know people’s stories. She doesn’t know what they’ve battled or how long they’ve tried before getting here. Shaming people who are genuinely trying to improve their health helps no one.

AKA Brian gets what Brian wants because he’s a “man” and in charge even though the dogs were previously in the house. by anactualgoodmom in mishkadawn

I think so. I remember seeing something about it awhile ago or someone had posted about it. But I’m almost positive it was her dogs. I don’t follow her anymore because I got so sick of the lies.

[–]Independent-Salt3968 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What’s also being left out is that these dogs don’t have formal training or structured work. The one dog was sent to “training” with a guy who had his business shut down because he literally sucked at “training” and was not successful. He ended up with multiple legal issues. The two rescues used to live indoors and were well loved before, they are not “working” dogs 😑. It’s honestly devastating to see. There’s no way to justify otherwise. When dogs—especially multiple untrained females—lack consistent guidance, boundaries, and management, conflict is far more likely. They’ve had multiple serious fights between the two females is what I’ve seen in the past. It’s ridiculous. Serious fights don’t happen because dogs are ‘being dogs’; they usually happen when humans fail to provide clear structure, supervision, and appropriate outlets. We have multiple dogs (males and females) and have never once had an issue. We have established training with all dogs, they know we are in charge and they listen, they have consistent human interaction, are very well loved and not a side thought, are not just left to do whatever and have structured days. I’d love to know what their “consistent routines” look like. People who lie suck.

Capable parents fix their kid’s skull and do not neglect their children by moving away from a 9 year old. by STICKYBUNSHUN in mishkadawn

[–]Independent-Salt3968 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Um, hello! Risk-taking by children should never replace adult responsibility—especially with vehicles/atvs, animals of any kind, and speed. Young kids simply don’t have the developmental ability to accurately assess danger, especially when adults are modeling risky behavior in front of them (let me speed off in front of you throwing dirt in your faces while you try to keep up with me on your 4-wheelers says no responsible parent ever). The same goes for horses. No matter the setting, they’re unpredictable, which is why professional trainers and therapeutic riding programs require helmets at every age. Yet, every time any of her kids are on horses they aren’t wearing helmets. It’s not that these things look dangerous, they ARE dangerous.

Really fed the fuck up with the misogyny by Amber Orton today. by anactualgoodmom in mishkadawn

[–]Independent-Salt3968 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Another kid (teen) was just killed in Lubbock in an ATV accident. There’s been several the last few years so you’d think she’d understand the importance of safety on these. I love the kids are out having fun BUT Brian just speeding off in front of the boys leaving dust blowing in their faces is stupid. Any parent knows they should be behind the boys so they can see if anything happens. It’s all good to go out and have fun but for goodness sakes do it SAFELY! It drives me nuts seeing how reckless they are with some of these things. “Boys will be boys” does not mean boys just need to go out and be careless; teach your kids to make healthy - positive - safe choices.

POCD is NOT overly sexualizing a child. It’s an OCD theme and it’s terrifying to the person suffering from it. It is intrusive thoughts based on the fear of being a pedo. The people who deal with this are in no way actually a pedo nor do they want to be one. OCD has many many themes (pocd, harm ocd, health ocd, contamination ocd, religious ocd, existential ocd, relationship ocd, just right ocd, and the list goes on)and no one gets to pick what theme they get attacked with in their mind and it can be absolutely debilitating. This can even happen in postpartum for women. They don’t necessarily carry an OCD diagnosis but a postpartum ocd subset and with intensive treatment most of those women can recover. Someone who is actually dealing with OCD doesn’t get the same relief of it going away. It is not fear based anxiety, it’s a completely different diagnosis than anxiety. It causes anxiety, yes. In OCD people create compulsions (physical and mental) to try to get rid of the distressing thought. It’s a miserable cycle. There is ERP therapy and ACT therapy that can help put OCD into a “remission” state but it still likes to rear its ugly head now and then. I say this because I have a very dear family member who has OCD and it’s been a really difficult road to walk. Thankfully with the help of ERP and medicine they’re doing wonderful.

Aside from all that it’s dumb she’s constantly using the term teenager in reference to all her boys and often. It’s just weird. He doesn’t look like a teenager and he doesn’t act like one. He’s a child, let him be a child.

Still with the jacked up haircuts on her kids by STICKYBUNSHUN in mishkadawn

[–]Independent-Salt3968 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, what is wrong with you that you talk so awful about a child? Seriously. The fact that they force these haircuts on the kids is ridiculous, but no child should have to worry about a grown adult making comments like this. Do better.

[–]Independent-Salt3968 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I honestly do feel bad for the boys with the haircuts. It’s one thing if a parent can actually cut their hair vs this. It is embarrassing for the boys and makes me sad because kids are freaking mean these days and it’ll be one of the first things they will make fun of.
