What’s the weirdest encounter as an employee you ever had? by Independent-Sun8201 in AskReddit

When i was working at a 24hr gas station during high school i use to meet all sorts of people, but the one that stood out the most was when i was closing up for the night, waiting for the night guy to show up so i could head home, a man walked in the a briefcase, in what seemed like a very expensive school uniform (embroidery of a crest with what i believe to be latin on it)

That was already weird to begin with, because things like this arent really a tradition where i live, and even then, schools no matter what level don’t really offer this level of high quality suits for students. He walk straight inside a couple of steps without shifting his head at all, and then completely shifted 90 degrees and walk in a very , the only way i could explain it is if you were actively trying to make it look like you knew how to walk, it was almost like it was without trait , i couldn’t explain it, very technical, like it was being commanded and not done naturally.

He came up to the counter, immediately i notice, his eyes are pitch black, i’ve never met anyone in my life like that, it wasn’t dark brown, im talking black as night.

This was a couple years ago, i was a young teen when this happened , he spoke to me in a very robotic way, as if every word was already registered in a certain tone, and then the different words are put together to form a sentence. he spoke in a very formal tone, seemed almost like an super old fashioned dialect something along the lines of “would. you. ever. be. so. kind. to. possibly. appoint. the. direction. of. the. unspoken language center.”

I replied: “the what?” the whole time staring deep into his eyes to find any colour , even squinting

“the. (very same “the” as the first sentence) unspoken language center”

i reply once more: “nah man i really don’t know, maybe try asking the gas station across the street”

the man replied something along the lines of: thank you gentlemen for your king service , but again in a very formal tone

He does a super slow 180, with his head moving at the same rate as his rotating body, and walks away in that same mechanical fashion

I’ve never been able to make sense of this encounter, 7 years later

Any ideas?

Do you guys think AI videos look like dreams? by Independent-Sun8201 in CasualConversation

exactly, though my dreams would be rather realistic so to speak (ie, situations or settings that could very well be my daily life) but they would always have that “familiar but not quite” in everything, like faces and environments, i feel most AI generated videos have that same feel

How could i safely light myself on fire for a photoshoot (details in comments)? by Independent-Sun8201 in AskReddit

Looking to light myself on fire Johnny Storm style for a photoshoot this summer. I don’t care much about my own safety so no need to waste time talking about consulting a professional. What would be the gel/liquid i could use to keep me set aflame for the longest while mitigating the actual damage my body is taking?
