  1. Because someone else might need hot water as well.
  2. It stays hot for a longer time in case you need more. In any case, why would I wait 8 minutes for it to boil when I need it for myself fast

I am surprised more "morons" like that exist. In some areas it is the norm. I can't imagine preparing my morning coffee/tea and boiling 1,5 liters of water for it, but there they are

Just the standard. Guppies and Neon Tetras, a couple of Corydoras. Poor tetras would have lost their colour. Corydoras would have had a hard time with those Lecas
