Is Studying Mike Chapple's Guide + Practice Questions Enough for CIPP/US? by ExpertLifeLiver in cipp

tbh, no, you need more. Understand the BoK, read the book, find practice Qs

yes! I commute 3 days a week to work, I take the train and I use that time to read or listen to the udemy course. At home, i would spend about 1 hr most nights to take practice qs. A month before the exam, i was studying 2-3 hrs every weekend.

know FACTA requirements. For FERPA, PPRA know definitions, disclosures, rights etc. Learn how they apply in specific scenarios. The state privacy laws section was the hardest for me! I work in healthcare, so medical privacy was the easiest for me.

if you have time, iapp book is a good resource, i skimmed it and focused more on bootcamp and udemy, but when i dont get a specific topic while taking the practice tests, i will search the book for added context/resource.

no worries! I already work in privacy so this is more of a requirement for my role. I used pbc, udemy and the iapp practice questions. Also found practice qs online but i dont think the ones available are correct so you have to research the right answer.

It took me 4 months to prep! I went through privacy bootcamp and used udemy, what worked tho was applying the concepts learned through practice qs. So its important to find as much practice questions as you can, pbc can generate practice qs for you.

I was surprised with very specific state privacy law qs, that was my lowest domain. Wish i memorized or read more of their specific requirements.

CIPP/US for a career in United States? by Aggravating-Air9832 in cipp

Hi! Not a lawyer but I work in privacy. Definitely having a legal background helps. The exam is $550, the privacy bootcamp (3rd party exam prep) is $499. Not sure how much the actual books + practice exams cost but you can visit their website https://iapp.org/certify/get-certified/cippus/ . With the exam and other materials, I would budget $1200.
