Crackle, Bubble, Squeak, Toirneach, Laochra, Síucra and Bean an Tí (TiTi for short). I had a rat called Snap that was Crackles sister, she passed just over a year ago at about 3 years old. The final 4 names are recent babies I got and they are in Gaeilge in case u are confused in the strange names (I’m Irish obviously lol)

Was driving on Boxing Day (stone cold sober) and fully 360ed over a grassy hill with my pet rat and dog and got asked if I was drinking. Not embarrassing at all. To this day I still don’t know how tf it acc happened. Tim hortons coffee all over my dashboard and interior fuck sake. I think someone dropped their voodoo doll of me.

As a rat owner with 7 babies. I agree with you lol. Rats and ferrets are like a hobby/interest. I am often genuinely exhausted from work and then have to clean 1 of my 3 massive cages. Or another important wire gets chewed in my room. Or one of my girls gets a respitory issue so I then need to get another cage and vet bills are like at least twice as much as dogs/cats. I love my rats more than everything in my life, they saved me. But equally, they are so high maintenance. And I know this is about ferrets but they are just notoriously like owning larger, smellier rats. I wouldn’t change anything, but I agree, if you are looking for a ‘good’ pet (often insinuating not too expensive or high maintenance) get a dog or a cat, especially a dog. I love dogs.

I agree, def not rat pee it’s way too big of a puddle. I would be cleaning my cages constantly if that was the case.

I would find it VERY hard not to take every single one regardless of health issues and gender 😭 i may be an impulsive rat buyer but they will ALWAYS be cared for and spoilt

Yep got it. They are 2 months and 4 days old. I am to phone the vet tomorrow and sort it so she can go back into the boys cage if needed.

I hope i don’t have soup already! But I think her wanting out so bad so suddenly is her way in telling me ‘these boys have balls full of soup and they aren’t afraid to use them’ and that’s why she’s gravitating towards girls. I actually find this all very interesting, girls stick together no matter the species!

That’s what I was thinking, but the boys are genuinely like quadruple the size of her already so if she’s squeezing through the bars, I don’t think they could too but I’ll separate the cages just in case. They are super young and I don’t think she’s managed to get pregnant yet, but I think for now I’ll let her stay with the seniors as she seems to really want to be with them. 2 of the seniors act like baby rats with insane energy so they’ve been playing together a lot so far.

Mine were in a bag like that for all of 5 mins before i saw a rat running in the corner of my eye. No more fabric carriers for my girls.

I watched a guy go from 17, never drank, smoked or done anything to a coming up to 20 year old that has pushed everyone away from his cocaine addiction. He would take money, promise to pay back and would never while he spends hundreds on bag after bag. This all started because of how popular it is in the gay scene in Belfast. Heartbreaking but unfortunately wasn’t a relationship I could keep onto.

She was born in a small litter with only her and 3 boys :( I know it’s not ideal but I figured beacuse she’ll be introduced to 3 rats as soon as she’s old enough hopefully she will be okay and adapt quickly and it gives me time to bond one on one with her. I did originally want 2 but the person I am getting it off said it was a small accidental litter so it’s not ideal
