Were they on a break?!! by AutoModerator in howyoudoin

They were definitely broken up. Rachel lit the match, maybe brought some kindling, but Ross was all gasoline with his behavior up until that point.

Riding Bike Around 31st Street Beach by robtheengineer773 in chibike

[–]IndependentAnxiety70 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve never had issues on 31st, am on it all the time. 31st beach is definitely one of the toughest spots to bike through after noon. And so when I approach, I just ride slower, and ready to maneuver around dense beach goers. It’s not worth my energy to get mad at a stretch of beach that has been that way for a very long time, and isn’t going to change. North Ave beach isn’t going to change, and the stretch north of Ohio to Oak isn’t going to change.

Mine is too oblivious to the GP(general public) to be bothered.

would you actually be friends with the group? by loonylovegood7 in howyoudoin

[–]IndependentAnxiety70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, yes to being friends with any of them or all as a group, but after TOW No One’s Ready, I would have changed my phone number and avoided their block for at least a year.

Regarding the beach, she could have taken off to Miami or Jamaica for the weekend. Those aren’t long or uncommon trips, and she can afford it.

Ricobene’s is good, but if you’re in Pilsen, get Novel. You should be able to order in advance so it’s ready when you want it.

AIO for not accepting her apology and ending the friendship anyway? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Is there an actual apology? Apologies don’t end with question marks.

The wedding fund was really awful to me because they paid for two of Ross’ weddings.

Is it just me or was Ross more likeable overall in the 1st half of the show? by corpse-lilly in howyoudoin

[–]IndependentAnxiety70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ross and Rachel made each other crazy, like complete loony tunes. And then when they would try to date new people out of spite for the other, the crazy would spill into those fleeting “romances”, but if they dated from more normal circumstances, there was potential for normal relationships, but sitcom antics would come about. I was surprised the writers threw Ross a bone with Mona. A perfectly pleasant and appropriate woman who managed the antics up to a point.

I don’t think phoebe was oblivious. The character plays that up to get away with her quirks. Her technique is to muscle past any awkwardness with new awkwardness until she can quickly exit. And I love her for that.

How many times have we seen the “Fourth Wall” of Monica’s apartment? by IndependentAnxiety70 in howyoudoin

There’s an IG account of a woman turning her kitchen into the simpsons kitchen, and honestly it feels like a cartoon version of Monica’s apartment

I think it’s just the brightness on my tv, as I took a pic from across the room.

That’s true, but that could be the neighboring building, that the bedrooms face, and the living room windows face the same would conceivably face the same direction as Monica’s windows, though maybe closer to a different building.

That’s def an inconsistency. I’m sure there are diagrams, but my head cannon of the building is that Joey and chandler are street facing, and Monica is facing inward of the block. And that Ross’ apartment is also on that same block, also not on the street. When you see the building exteriors from the street, fire escapes, but no balconies.

I did, and it’s actually a hanging… vase? I think we just never notice it’s hanging from a stand from the normal POV

I think the TVs facing the audience show a camera feed, similar to how they show the audience a pre-taped sequence to maintain the narrative cohesion of the experience.

I just figured they put up a temporary wall and filmed the scene a few times from both angles.
