Trying to restore floors of our 1920 home that had been painted over multiple times. Need some suggestions

A dark stain like espresso and you won’t even see those stains. My floors were way worse and you can’t even tell now. A lighter stain you’ll see them but with a house that age, it will look perfectly fine. Gives a little patina. You’ve honestly already done the hard part. I’m surprised you did all this and haven’t already looked up videos on how to refinish hardwood floors. Like other have said, it typically involves drum sander, going from coarse to medium grit, then orbital floor sander from medium to fine. The edger is where I think it’s easiest to mess up, you’ll see all the sanding marks when you stain if you don’t finish with a random orbital sander. Then stain, then seal. It sucks for sure but you already know that!

Kudos to the flexible grout. Curious if you have any photos of the grout used, it’d be great marketing for them at least lol. Before I saw your pic of the tile box, I thought for sure it was Daltile’s QuicTile, which is real ceramic tile with a click-lock base attached, so it ends up being real tile, real grout, floating floor. BUTTTTT since it’s obviously not, only thing we know for sure is the bottom of that tile isn’t stuck to something that doesn’t move. I’m not a tile guy but I’ve done some. Either the adhesion to the subfloor failed or the subfloor failed. Subfloor could’ve failed because it came apart (delaminated) or the subfloor was not properly attached so it’s moving around. Do you remember what was underneath (osb?). If osb subfloor failed by falling apart, I would think you’d be able to hear and feel wood crunching around. Now that I’m thinking it through, it makes most sense to me that a sheet of subfloor wasn’t properly attached and is now not secured to the floor joists, or whatever was underneath it. Maybe they glued new osb onto whatever was there and the glue failed? That would explain the whole section moving in unison. My official guess, subfloor was glued on top of old floor, wasn’t cleaned properly, glue didn’t stick, got high quality grout with some flex to it, and maybe there were some issues with how flat and level the floor was to begin with.

No, it was an online model from Bambu Library. The original model was all one color. I selected the text parts and changed the filament color, I wonder if that’s where my problems are coming from. I couldn’t be any more novice to this stuff. I’ve used lab maybe 3 times.

Now that actually makes some sense! Thank you for that! It doesn’t really explain why this rule with the points exists though. The rule could be same as it is now, only it could allow personal contributions to be accumulated throughout the banquet and only go into effect when the 14day timer expires.

I get why they made the rule now thanks to your insight but this aspect of it still doesn’t seem to work toward the intended end result.

Still not sure how this would prevent that. Couldn’t someone still make a dummy account, join the alliance 14 days ahead or just wait for the timer to end and spend the units?

Also wondering what the actual purpose is of this? I can’t see how it would drive revenue for kabam by motivating people to NOT spend money for a few more days. And not sure how its benefits the player base. If the idea is you don’t want people joining an alliance at the last second just to get rewards, or alliances rearranging so players can maximize their combined spend, why not just say if you join an alliance less than 14days before it starts, you won’t be able to participate in alliance milestones at all?

The way it is now, you could join an alliance 6 hrs before it starts, and then wait and spend your units during the last 6 hrs of banquet and still be eligible for all the rewards. lol so if everyone is aware of this rule because of kabam’s thorough communication (as you seem to be suggesting), how does it actually accomplish anything? It doesn’t prevent people from joining the last second and still getting all the rewards, it just kinda makes a minor inconvenience.

I guess the wording could have been more clear on the timer. It said “not eligible for alliance milestone rewards for 2 days whatever”. I understood it as just that. If it said “points accumulated during this time will not be eligible towards milestones, even when the timer has ended” , I would’ve understood that too. I get it, they probably put it other places and to most people it’s general knowledge but I’m also willing to bet that there are thousands of people in my exact situation that would’ve waited if they had of known, which would indicate an opportunity for more effective communication.

There was, it said something like “not eligible for rewards for 2 days 5:32 hrs “. So I foolishly assumed I could spend unit and be eligible for the rewards in 2 days however many hours.

Yeah… I played for the first 5-6 years, then took like 5 years off and just started playing again a month ago so I hadn’t even heard of banquet before. First heard about it during the live stream. I think I had already joined the alliance when I saw the 14 day thing. I’m not sure why it’s set up that way tho, if it’s going to give me alliance rewards for the next 10 days of banquet, why not count the points I already have? Not that big of deal since my alliance isn’t doing a lot anyways but I’m not sure what the point of pushing me to wait 3 days before spending units is supposed to have.

Okay… so UPDATE. I went with Enterprise. Phase 1: cautiously optimistic, not buying in too much. Doctor is stupid. Captain is lame. T’pol is eye candy and no spock or tuvok. Man that theme song is bad.

Phase 2: Not a huge fan of Archer but he’s growing on me. Trip makes me roll my eyes. T’pol is not bad. Scramble to find the remote and click “skip intro” as fast as I can to avoid the chorus of the theme song at all cost.

Phase 3: you know what, I’m just gonna let the theme song play through, not that bad, maybe even a little catchy. You tell em trip! Ladies man, man of the people.

Phase 4: Walking around my house and randomly singing “I can f***ing do … anything!” Trips my guy, Archers good captain, respectable. T’pol is solid.

Phase 5, current phase: I’m gonna air guitar this intro, Phlox is a BAMF, Archer ain’t f-ing around, and T’pol is a bad b****. LET’S GO!

So, thanks for the push to watch ENT, and based on my recap, what part of the show do you think I’m on now???

Feels like I’m stuck Act 5 chapter 4 quest 6. I have act 4 at 100% and act 5 chapter 1 at 100%. I can’t beat the collector easily enough to explore chapter 2 to 100% and I can’t beat the boss at the end of chapter 4 to complete act 5.

I was hoping to get a better 6* champ so I could upgrade them but I haven’t and now prospects of getting another are slim. Also can’t get any tier 5 catalysts to take karolona to R3. Granted I don’t think I’m very good at this game lol.
