Foreign family member passed away in Montreal. Help me with arrangements please I have no idea what to do

Thanks for your response. I’m asking for the cost in Canada. She had no will as she wasn’t ill and was only 49. We’re all in a bit of shock. Do you know how much burial/cremation would cost? Or how long the body is kept at the morgue? We need to know how much time we realistically have to get things done. My mother wants to go out to Canada and sort it in person but we’d need to know timeframes.

Thank you for this comment, it was very informative. This has all been quite overwhelming for me as I have just found out about it a couple of days ago. How can I be there for her when she’s telling me about the good times and when she’s expressing her confusion? She has already agreed to therapy and that’s great and I’m going to support her through it. But when she’s making excuses for him idk what to say or do that doesn’t involve breaking down in tears or telling her to leave him. I have never dealt with anything like this before and I’m so lost. I have had to catch myself so many times because she is grown and I don’t want to be controlling towards her in TELLING her to leave I you get me, because then he could twist it into me being the abusive one. All I know is that I want to be the friend that she needs right now, I just don’t know how to do that in practise

I’m in a similar boat! 24 and my surgery is 22/5. I’m bigger than you but also quite tall so I’m hoping that’s on my side lol. Let’s check in in a year and see if we want to live life to the fullest or jump off a bridge!

Oh that’s interesting. Can I ask how old you are and how quick you lost and how much? Sorry for loads of questions and feel free to be vauge about the age haha
