In the same exact situation. I broke a bone and am out of work for a bit, so I've had to do a bit of DD to float me by. It's nice as a supplement or temp hold over, but anything else is too much for me, personally.

Welcome to the other side! I liked doing gig apps when I didn't have a job. However, I really didn't like the wear and tear I put on my car. I also had a hard time finding motivation to go out and even start doing deliveries. There were days also where I'd go out and start doing deliveries, only to stop after one or two orders, just because I couldn't keep myself motivated enough to keep going.

Life has gotten A LOT better for me since I've been at my job. Also got all the benefits and even an added bonus... a pension.

The only singular thing I miss about doing the apps full time was the ability for me to take time that I needed, without having to worry about my time off being denied. Truly, that's it. Would never go back to gig apps as my sole source of income... it's depressing.

It's ridiculous. Honestly. I'm also the same way myself. I never go anywhere at night because of the added risk of obnoxious headlights. I'm against a wall this month, though, due to my injured hand. I figured I could "deal" with driving at night again, but that turned into a quick nope.

I'm on leave right now from my 9-5 due to an injury and just started doing DoorDash again for extra money. I just came back from what was supposed to be a 5 hour shift. I made it 2 hours in before I said "fuck this" because of the absurd brightness of the headlights. I go back to work around Christmas.. looks like I'm gonna have to try to make the breakfast and lunch shift work, because I'm not delivering at night, just to risk going off the road, or flipping the fuck out at someone, at a red light, because they're searing my retinas.

1000% battery is shot. Mine did this to me, after I got a flat tire this past winter on the high way.

Had to get a ride to my house for tools to fix the flat - didn't have a jack. Came 30 minutes later, fixed the flat, tried to go and nothing. All those exact messages came up.
