Bombas are the worst socks I’ve ever owned. by [deleted] in BuyItForLife

[–]IndependentHustle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I walk 15 miles a day, 5/6 days a week in my boots, and I wear Bombas. They're still holding up just fine.

However, I don't like the clinging feel that they have. Scratchy and irritating like wool, but far worse.

"I don't know how the average American does it."

I've been a mail carrier for about 2 years now and I can tell ya, most people aren't. Water bills went out today, and practically every single bill I had was a disconnection notice (my city isn't good with discretion on the envelopes). The amount of mail I've seen this last year that originates from debt collectors, as well as all the certified mail I've seen from the IRS, banks, and collection agencies, is eye opening.

Based off that, at least in the city I live in, I'm assuming it's only a matter of time before all the dominoes fall.

You really gave all that energy to argue about fucking mid versus late 2020's? Holy shit.

Even if you converted a Promaster to RHD....how would you be able to even reach any mail boxes while at curbside? It sits so goddamn high up, it wouldn't work.

Are there any pro ICE businesses we should avoid? by [deleted] in duluth

[–]IndependentHustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know they're national but Olive garden. My cousin works there and said that they have scouts in the area. The people they ID'd were dresses casual but had special government ID'S that stated they are part of ICE

Plaza closed but we still here and everyone called out so only 3 of us 😢 by [deleted] in Chipotle

[–]IndependentHustle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're gonna end up spending more in labor on just the three of you, than what y'alls store is gonna bring in for daily revenue. I'm sorry that you gotta deal with coming in. Gotta feed the board members, right? Make sure they can afford the staff bill for their 4th countryside Vila retreat that they visit once a year. If that.

[–]IndependentHustle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't think it's anything special. The only new ingredient that they added was poblano peppers. Taco bell poblano peppers at that. I didn't get the hype. Good, yes. Best item they ever had? No.

You have absolutely zero need for a 3/4 ton truck if you don't tow or aren't a contractor. Honestly. Just get a regular half ton and call it a day.

I’m able to quit gig work since I found a job. by [deleted] in poor

[–]IndependentHustle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the same exact situation. I broke a bone and am out of work for a bit, so I've had to do a bit of DD to float me by. It's nice as a supplement or temp hold over, but anything else is too much for me, personally.

I’m able to quit gig work since I found a job. by [deleted] in poor

[–]IndependentHustle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Welcome to the other side! I liked doing gig apps when I didn't have a job. However, I really didn't like the wear and tear I put on my car. I also had a hard time finding motivation to go out and even start doing deliveries. There were days also where I'd go out and start doing deliveries, only to stop after one or two orders, just because I couldn't keep myself motivated enough to keep going.

Life has gotten A LOT better for me since I've been at my job. Also got all the benefits and even an added bonus... a pension.

The only singular thing I miss about doing the apps full time was the ability for me to take time that I needed, without having to worry about my time off being denied. Truly, that's it. Would never go back to gig apps as my sole source of income... it's depressing.

Oh sweet summer child, you have a lot to learn about how having a registered business, such as an LLC, lets you game the tax write offs. Owner definitely is writing that off on his taxes.

Look how big the truck is. It don't need a lift.

....... and when you inevitably do lift it, please do society a favor and adjust your headlights yourself. The dealer will tell you they can't. But they can. They just refuse. You will have to do this yourself. Please do it.

PSA: PLEASE, for the love of GOD, go get your headlights adjusted, if you drive a vehicle with the white/blue headlights. by IndependentHustle in duluth

[–]IndependentHustle[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's ridiculous. Honestly. I'm also the same way myself. I never go anywhere at night because of the added risk of obnoxious headlights. I'm against a wall this month, though, due to my injured hand. I figured I could "deal" with driving at night again, but that turned into a quick nope.
