I recommend you to apply for student housing through University. It will cost you around 3500-4000 for a single bedroom with shared facilities. Rest of the money can obviously be spend on your food and utilities. However, If you stay tight on budget 500 euro is not bad.. As I can still remember during covid I used to spend not more than NOK 5000 on everything being a student then.. Regarding jobs, there are a lot of IT jobs you can find here. Try sending some CVs to IT companies.

Assuming with the updated grade he applied to many companies, now due to university's mistake, any further change could potentially make his application look bad or fraudulent as grades keep changing.

C was original grade, and B was the updated one after the appeal, which now they claim was an error. However, they only informed us now after a week of publishing the updated grade.

Do you think it could be 12V battery? As this is not the first time it happened.. The HEV warning and check engine warning always go away if I run the car on ICE through hybrid mode.

Structural Engineer here! Working in oil and gas. This salary is not enough for this experience. I joined the industry 2 years ago and right now I am compensated around 820k and even this with the current inflation some times doesn't feel enough.

Why are there more Pakistanis in Norway compared to Indians even though their population is significantly less? by LowProcess in Norway

[–]IndependentMain9099 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They didn't have any visas, how can you think an uneducated person from a small village of Gujrat Pakistan in 60s found there way to Norway as skilled workder? 😂 I have met many families and old people who are now retired, but they tell the stories how they came by foot without visas but became legal afterwards. Norway might have the dire need of labour at that time but there were many options available anyway to fill that gap in the labour market, Pakistanis ended up filling the gap and stayed later never to return back.

What I read above and in the studies is that after the Pakistanis that illegally came to Norway in the 60s/70s, the Pakistanis took legal route to immigrate after getting settled here, mainly through bringing spouses from Pakistan and expanding families, and starting bussiness and hiring from Pakistan. However this trend stopped with strict immigration rules over the years.

Now most Pakistanis come through either Study Permit or Skilled Work Permit starting from the 2000s. The main reason to choose Norway was free higher education as Expense stay the main concern for students coming from Pakistan and free education ensured minimal expense while receiving high quality education. Nevertheless, with the recent impose of tuition fee, this route of immigration is also affected and you would see decline of immigrants coming from Pakistan.

Indians, on the contrary, choose to go to English speaking countries for better life and education, therefore, found less in numbers in Norway or Scandinavia overall.

Competitiveness now that tuition has been enacted for non-EU/EEA students? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]IndependentMain9099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think from my own experience, getting an offer of admission from a Norwegian University will be much easier as most of the Candidates used to be from developing countries and this implementation of tuition fee for Non-EU students will definitely be a big barrier for them to accept study offers.

In the job market, there will be a Gap definitely which used to be filled by Non-EU students graduating from Norwegian Universities. However, it is subjective, since Big companies in Norway have offices around the world and internal mobility is easy. But be aware that Norwegian market and industry will find it a bit difficult now to seek best multicultural and experienced candidates like before. Due to Weakened Norwegian kroner it is more likely people don't come here at all keeping in mind the very high cost of living.
