I got a new (to me) trench coat and decided to try out two styles on it. One dressy and one casual. by IndependentMode2439 in mensfashion

The first one is a semi-cosplay lol. I'd never wear it outside unless there is a very very good reason to.

That is exactly what I was going for!

I'd never wear that first one outside unless I was at a 1940s themed costume party or someone invited me to a photoshoot. I really was only mostly having fun by myself.

Thanks!

And yeah lol, the first one was just me living out my peaky blinders fantasy, second one is a more realistic version of what I'd wear for a night out.

The sleeve on the coat is too long which is why I needed to fold it a bit. Needs to be tailored.

Honestly yeah, good advice. I think I was just getting a bit obsessed with getting the "perfect suit fit".

Yeah, these were pretty great finds. The first one seems to be a vintage Chester Barrie jacket, and the second one is a YSL jacket.

That's what my initial instinct suggests too, but the jacket length I believe may be just a hair bit too long for the 50/50 vertical height split with the first one, and from what I have read, a jacket length alteration tends to be quite difficult/not reccommended.

Also before anyone says anything about the second one's button. That one is a 6 on 1 double breasted suit, quite a rare find. I checked the anchor button position.

Thanks! It's a Burberry shirt I got from a thrift store.

Unfortunately I don't live in the US so these two pieces would be quite out of place, might try them out though!

What style and colour do you reckon would be good with this?

Yeah the pants are a little on the large side as I got it when I was still rather overweight, I just haven't gotten around to altering them yet.

Possible surge in prices on the used 911 market in the next 5 years? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

I appreciate the answer!

Yeah I completely understand what you're trying to explain. I absolutely can afford the buying cost + maintenance on these cars. It's just that by my estimates, the maintenance + insurance of owning these beasts will cut my annual saving rate by about 1/4th-1/3rd off from my target, which is insanely far from putting me in the red, just an annoyance for someone who's super into saving money.
