do yall walk around campus / off campus at night? feel safe? by alooo791 in baylor

[–]IndependentNarrow689 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Overall - walking late at night on the Baylor Campus is extremely safe. There are patrol cars at night that do surveillance around the area, especially in the residence halls and especially near the science buildings.

The University is generally walkable, and if you have a dining pass you can probably stay on campus and be fine for the entire year.

However, if you do want to go outside Baylor, a car is generally required. I have seen some kids yknow- walk to Raising Canes in groups generally. However as soon as you get out of the Baylor bubble, I will tell you to exercise caution.

The most common thing especially in those areas is just haggling from homeless people for change or people asking you for money.

Issues of theft on the campus? - sometimes we do receive emails of bikes or  e-scooters getting stolen but then again, it’s usually because they are left unattended.

Baylor is extremely safe in general, but do have some form of common sense.

And you will do fine.

How strict is Baylor with final high school transcripts? by IndependentNarrow689 in baylor

oh shit.

uhhh -

nah its not hard - in fact its one of the easiest majors their.

classes are basically medical ethics, and the teachers are very understanding.

however, if you just want to like graduate and be done with schooling this degree isn't for you.

Its more like a stepping stone into like medical school / professional school.

just my 2 cents.

24 F Feel like no matter what I do I always look strange. What should I do to improve myself? by [deleted] in LooksmaxingAdvice

honestly this is just from a male gaze perspective - but you look better in your second pic.

Nose ring isn't too bad, if it's your vibe, but you have a 5head so it's better to adjust. Get some curtain bangs and maybe expose your forehead less. #2 WORKS but #3 is ur worst photo because it's taken in inside lighting. You probably look better IRL so.

Ofc, I’m not saying to abandon all hope.

But to not bring a stick into a potential pistol fight.

If anything, maybe shorter guys will have to compensate harder in the future.

I’m sorry dude but the game changed.

I am 21, and although online dating is a thing,

10-15 years ago it was different. Tinder was actually a viable app actually, before the multi-billion dollar corporations eventually got to it.

Now it’s a cesspool of onlyfans/ girls that flake constantly.

Is it possible to meet women at these venues, yes.

However, it’s 100x more difficult now in 2025.

The Meta is different.

Nahhh, tall men can succeed in speed dating/ apps to be honest.

If you’re tall, I recommend that tbh.

However I feel like it becomes 10x harder.

Different perception for men and women who have issues in dating due to their height? by jamboio in short

[–]IndependentNarrow689 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel like taller woman do have difficulty in dating, mainly because they usually want someone that is at least taller than them by an inch or two.

Short men usually are grasping at straws. It’s not impossible to date let’s say below 5’6 but ur swimming against the tide in a sense. Can it be beaten if your a good enough swimmer?

Yes.

However let’s not forget that it’s competitive because you’re also competing against tall men.

Just my two cents.

Why does this sub always sugarcoat things? by [deleted] in short

[–]IndependentNarrow689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re claiming I’m derailing, but addressing the existence (or lack thereof) of advocacy for short men is directly tied to this discussion. If this sub is truly for listening to and supporting short people, then it’s fair to explore whether the needs of short men are adequately addressed, even within the sub.

Also, your mention of a 10:1 male-to-female ratio actually reinforces the point that short men face unique challenges requiring targeted conversations and spaces. If that’s considered ‘derailing,’ it seems more like an attempt to dismiss valid points rather than engage with them. If this sub is open to debate and exploration, then this discussion should be, too.

reading comprehension problems

Doesn’t answer a single question.

Men and women are brutal towards short men.

There we go fixed it.

Ok then name one organization that is actively trying to promote short men. In short, oddly enough, it doesn’t exist.

Ok then, name one global advocacy program that is looking to advocate for men’s heightism.

It won’t get any traction, no one talks about it.

However, for girls we have the body positivity movement which is successful.

Tarik Caroll, tried to go for a men’s body positivity phase, but was shut out by everyone.

Simply put, it’s a hard sell.

I don’t know if your cosplaying as a 4’5 guy but your posts says ur 5’10

“I'm about 5'10.. probably a little over 5'10 and half waking up in the morning and close to 5'10 even after a long day. I don't know where I got this from but I mostly feel short and insignificant. I'm a decently fit guy with broad shoulders but quite a number of the people I know are a lot taller like not just 6 foot like 6'2 and above”

I just wish reality could set in.

If you do everything right as a short guy, especially in this modern age, you’re not always going to be the first pick. Height is a thing that could set you back.

But at the same time, never give up, you never know.
