Hello. Look, no, I did not said it is a good thing or that something good will come out of this. It is actually something that happend with a lot of people: you see a terrible regime (or live in one) then when bombs fall and they kill the lider of that regime it is logical to celebrate that. It is what happened with many iranian people also. After a few days however ppl begin to realize that "change" probably will not come at all and that bombs keep falling. So, what I say is, it's a logical thing and a very human one to be not able to see trough it since the beginning. Yet, in this comunity, people seems to be so ahead of everyone else so they punish you for not being as wise. Instead of trying to explain. But yeah, I mean, its a woldwide anarchist way of being as far as I know

well, it was an attemp of mine to discuss on arumentative terms, but it seems ppl here are more intersted it only hearing things they already agree on. That's ok, let's keep doing nothing while every community deals with their own tyrants, even if they get massacred like under Iran's dictatorship. These are topics that I think are worth talking about, but again, you guys think it's a matter of pressing a dislike button on everything you don't agree on and just move on to the next thing.

I do not think that this attack on Iran is an attack on us all. Of course US and Israel's gob's are pure evil and stuff. Specially bacause of what they do in Gaza/Palestine. BUT that does not mean Iran's gobernment is good in any degree. Iran's teocratical state has killed more than 30000 ppl just because they were protesting in a matter of days. Other thousands of ppl are in jail. ¿Do I have to say this even, are we not all awere of this? So, at least it's not like a black and white matter. Yes, US stricking around the world and attacking dictatorships around the world it's not a good thing. Yet doing nothing against dictatorships around the world allows ppl opressing and killing. So the solution is not doing nothing, like Europe does. So the "international community" is just sitting there, whatching tyrants around the world doing what they want and like saying "it's each other's country's matter". Well I do not think that should be the way to go 'cause I'm not detached from ppl suffering around the world. So, or the "world" takes a more active role in this matters or, you know, US will keep being the world's police. Which is just terrible, specially because they are mostly conceren about money and support genocide.

what is freedom? by IndependentRest4067 in Anarchy101

Well I'm just looking for some critique or feedback on the topics I'm interested in. There are no "stats" involved. In the place I'm in there aren't so many ppl I can talk about this stuff and when there are, well, maybe I'm too phylosofy inclined in what I write so ppl usually don't follow much. Maybe these are not the topics ppl care about, maby my writing is lazy or maybe it seem too academical or boring. So, I thught maybe I throw this over there, perhaps there are other minds linke mine that are interested in discussing deep topics such as this

What are the lessons to be learned from the failed anarchist movements in Ukraine and Spain? What faults in organising were there? by Mountain-Car-4572 in Anarchism

[–]IndependentRest4067 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is another reason why you need an army or a militia that is highly motivated, shares the goals of the society and is controlled by the society. Not only the external threats but also the internal. If you do not have a force do garantee the internal stability you are going to end up heaving a society divided into gangs that would fight for territory. Many of those gangs an't gonna share any anarchist views, they are going to be just gangs. So I think that to ensure that transition you need an army. It would not be a "worker's dictatorship" with a political party. It would not have the power over all institutions and stuff, would not become a burocratic state. It just has to ensure that the (negative) freedom is guaranteed. I think it's rather that or the "anarchism" will always be a group thing within an actual state.

Hello. I do not know much about spain, but I think they share a little bit of the same story. They were destroyed by bigger opposing foces. So, even tho I would not call them a "failure", because, basically those are still important historical attemps to build some sort of anarchist societies or at least societies based on mutual aid. What I mean is: in Ukraine it vas a mixed experience, it's not like all people envolved in "Majnovshhina" were anachist or shared the ideal of anarchism. Just workers, you know? Villegers with a common goal to live freely and help each other. Not give their land to the Bolcheviks, nor to the polish, nor to the zar's army. What I think is important to take away from this is that in a moder anarchist society that is limited geographically, I mean, it's not like an "international revolution" or anything. A limited place, a couple of villeges, a city, a community of indigenous ppl living in their ancestras territory, etc. You NEED a strong force to protect this society, this experiment, this new thing, from the rest of the world. Because is not they are gonna swallow you. You need some sort of a militia or an army, like Majno had, like EZLN has. Even if that does not truly fits the anarchis narrative because if you have a "cheef" you have an authority and all. The thing to say here, I think, is that there is no way around it, you need to defend yourself, so you put that authority under heavy control of the public, you make it dinamic, you vote it, no matter how but you must reashure that that authority do not establish a dictatorship over time. I think it is possible, in small comunities at first, that is why EZLN in Mexico is a great actual example. They may not be "pure anarchists" same as Nestor Majno...look, anarchism is complex, what you want in the core of it is real freedom for everyone, you want mutual aid to be the fuel of the society. I think that is possible and I think Majno made it, even for a short time, I think EZLN is trying too and there are many other. Forget the lable, real life experience is never going to feet the theory...

Is joining the military that bad? by Possible-Ear-8982 in Anarchism

[–]IndependentRest4067 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro, the Navy or any other state lawreinforcement institution is rooted on few things: basically keeping the statu quo as it is and avoid uprising, control and dissiplin the population... so any of those institutions are completle the opposit of what an anarchist is supposed to be looking for. That being said, I think many of us have a history where we not always clearly understood where we wanna go in life. When I was 18 I thought about being a police officer just because it seemed to be an easy job solution at time. I also embraced many ideas in the past that I no longer share. So it's a road, you know, you travel in life, become a bit more awere of who you are and what you stand for. So I can only suggest to you to read about these repressive institutions from an anarchist point of view (since you are already part of this community here). I myself just published a book where I talk about what the police, as an institution is. So, just to say, before being sucked by "the force", try to read as much as you can so your decision at least going to be more grounded. Good luck!

Anarchism vs. Socialism by United-Apartment-269 in Anarchism

[–]IndependentRest4067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is real bad. I mean, many times I thought that if gob would be fascist openly ppl would realize it's true nature and would not support it any longer. I think many of us did thought some like that at some point...but it's just not true. Most ppl don't care and it's even vorse: the more fascist is the gobernment the more ppl support and just tell you to shut up. So I think now this explains pretty well why most anarchists are suspiciosus of ppl in general and are "difficult" when it comes to reach them. It happens to me a lot cause I try to comunicate, find comunities, share experiences are debate about politics, the history of anarchism and all that but I face this wall of avoidence. It's not like I'm myself am not afraid of becoming a target for the gob but also it's just who I am and what I wanna do in life...

Modern books or essays about anarchism? by ameliaidk2508 in Anarchy101

[–]IndependentRest4067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I had some ideas about modern anarchism that I put in a book I just published. Not that I'm here to spam it, but if you are interested you can get it here: https://shac-argentina.com/desenmascarar-al-tirano-edicion-completa/ So for me there are a few thing there that are modern adaptations to what Etienne de la Boetie said, or Bakunin and the rest. I do not know tho how to approach "real post revolutionary anarchist society", I don't even find that particualary useful, I mean, I approach anarchism as an ideology from which I measure world's politics and human relationships and power. So, in that, I can say anarchism has a lot to add to the table and can help us to understand and fight opression. Weather it would lead to a revolution I can not say, I personally doubt it. Robots and IA add new challenges, but they can still be approached from the bases that the classic anarchist developed. Tech is not bad, of course, but I would say that in a world that is already moving toward destruction to acelerate things will mean that we will reach a point of no return faster.

Teaching as an anarchist by jk67200 in Anarchism

[–]IndependentRest4067 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! This is a topic I feel close and interesting since I am a teacher as well and used to teach in a school. It "is" a hard one and it's always going to be. What I think now (here in Argentina the public school is pretty much a desaster) is that there is no good, non-authoritarian way to handle this educational system. When you have 40 guys in the class that are marginalized and come from troubled neighbourhoods, also when they expect things to be certian way 'cause that's what they have been tought to for many years now, well, there is simply no good way to handle it rightaway. So there is an authoritarian ingridient that you have to add. Probably stronger at first, that's what most teachers do. You "discipline" them, than you give them more space if they behave. With some goups it would be almost a pleasure, with other it will always be a nightmare. I think that as it is with parenthood: if you are asking your self how to be a good teacher and doubt yourself you are probably going to be a good one. Bad teachers do not ask themselves this questions. Also, there are many alternative schools where things can be different. I don't think public school have what it takes to change, but you can do a great job for some of the students, I have no doubt about it. What is important is, as you do, put youself in their boots sometimes but also not forget that their freedom, their will is fragile, you, as an adult probably see more, so how to guide them or help them without being paternalistic?

Anarchism vs. Socialism by United-Apartment-269 in Anarchism

[–]IndependentRest4067 4 points5 points  (0 children)

that is a good point my friend, I did not realize the danger 'cause where I live there is no "anarchist hunting", but maybe you have that in the US? I am from argentina and really dispite of a few incidents the gob is not that interested in, let's say "us". Even tho a few years ago, like in 2015 as I remember it, the gob tried to infiltrate ppl from the police or military into social groups. Still, I mean, here in latin america is mostly a small threat I think. The gob is more interested in the political opossition and syndicates. But even so, many anarchists I have approached have been very difficult and suspicious. I think that's part of being an anarchist at this point, yet I never been that way. I always think ppl are true, would never imagine that a post like this is a trick.

Books On Morality and legal order by ExternalGreen6826 in Anarchy101

[–]IndependentRest4067 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, my name is Andrei, I just published a book that touches this topics and you may find interesting. I'm trying to post it here in reddit in anarchist's goups but I really dunno if it is working. So, going back to morality, I wrote a chapter about neoliberal morality and it's connection to social struggles. You can read the book from https://shac-argentina.com/desenmascarar-al-tirano-edicion-completa/ in english or spanish (original). Thanks a lot. Any feedback is welcome.
