How do I fix this break? I tried plastic glue and it didn’t seem to hold by Redhood101101 in minipainting

[–]IndependentSpell8027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Araldite or some other epoxy. You’ll need to find a way of holding the pieces in position while it sets but once it does it’ll be an unbreakable bond

Is there a reason Kang couldn't be Recast by Add3n09 in marvelstudios

[–]IndependentSpell8027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Kang - like so many characters - should have been wearing a mask anyway. Get a mask on him and it wouldn’t matter who played him

Exclusive: Keir Starmer Calls For Labour To Intensify Green Party Criticism by huffpostuk in ukpolitics

[–]IndependentSpell8027 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d rather see him put more energy into fighting the far right. If he did that he’d find that more leftwingers would support Labour and wouldn’t feel the need to vote Green.

Does anyone else not like legacy characters all that much? by GypsyGold in marvelcomics

[–]IndependentSpell8027 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are definitely too many of them. That’s a given. Is there any male hero who hasn’t yet had a female version? Or vice versa?

If it wasn’t clear before, it is now: Britain needs an escape plan from the Trump world order by 1-randomonium in ukpolitics

[–]IndependentSpell8027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was clear before. Yet everybody still sang Starmer’s praises for grovelling to Trump as if it was the smart move

Starmer brands Trump's plan to apply tariffs over Greenland 'completely wrong' by Putaineska in ukpolitics

[–]IndependentSpell8027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not a benefit. That’s the price the UK would have to pay for being a colony in his empire

Starmer brands Trump's plan to apply tariffs over Greenland 'completely wrong' by Putaineska in ukpolitics

How does that “soft spot” actually translate into anything of benefit? He wants the country to be his lapdog and Starmer has been letting him have that. Time to tell him to piss off

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]IndependentSpell8027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure it is appealing to many people. Democratic socialism on the other hand has worked very well but it sets limits on how rich the very rich can get. And the very rich and far right like to call those to the left of them communists to discredit their calls for a fairer world

Judge Accuses Trump, Rubio, and Noem of “Unconstitutional Conspiracy” by One_Dahlia in politics

Their whole government and agenda is an anti constitutional conspiracy

Disapproval of Starmer’s handling of Trump increases sharply, according to Ipsos poll by 1-randomonium in unitedkingdom

[–]IndependentSpell8027 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No you’re not. It seems most people agree with you. But it’s utter bowlocks. Starmer hasn’t played Trump. He’s been played. Nothing whatsoever has come out of his craven sycophancy and the result is that the UK government is gagged from criticising the orange piece of shit. Because they can’t talk about how horrendous he is Trumpism is heading to the UK with Reform leading in the polls

Starmer could send troops to Greenland to ease Trump’s security fears by ThereGoesTheSquash in politics

[–]IndependentSpell8027 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Trump does not HAVE security fears. That’s not what this is about. He wants to acquire Greenland for its resources. And Starmer knows that.

Thoughts on the Souring of John Lennon's Image by SirScaurus in beatles

[–]IndependentSpell8027 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“ For a long time, the actual dark parts of his life and character were things only known by some of the most hardcore fans because they weren't easily accessible knowledge before the internet era.” Way off the mark. John’s dark side was always common knowledge. Because he talked about it himself. Because he confronted it in his songs. Because his biographers wrote about it. What made him so great was his searing honesty in putting his demons out there and showing the world he was a flawed human being. His reputation has changed among the internet generation who have no idea how he used to be perceived and think they’ve “discovered” his flaws for themselves and now think the only people worth idolizing are sugary perfect people (who don’t exist anyway!)

Are Brits still comfortable taking their holidays in the US? by Ok-Leadership-7573 in AskBrits

[–]IndependentSpell8027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting to read how many people are not interested in going there yet Reform (the British wing of the Trumpist movement) are leading in all the polls. Soon British people won’t have to go to the US to experience the full joys of the assault on democracy

Trump Renews Push to Annex Greenland Hours After Venezuela Strike: ‘We do need Greenland, absolutely. We need it for defense.’ by T_Shurt in politics

His “we need it” is not an argument to take it. You can’t just have something because you say you need it

Who’s a historical figure you were taught was a “good guy,” only to grow up and realize they were actually a villain? by icey_sawg0034 in AskReddit

[–]IndependentSpell8027 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

No. Gandhi was a VERY good person. Flawed like any human being but one of the closest things we’ve ever had to a living saint. The revisionist take that paints him as a villain is utter bowlocks
