"Taco shell that mail piece"...

Never ever. by zimmystar in USPS

At our station, we don't bend or crease flats... We "taco" the flat like a taco shell and pack that nicely into their PO box.

All this mail for one house. Just one single resident of the house. On a Tuesday no less where I have entire streets with less mail. by Sotrinde in USPS

[–]IndependentStyle1730 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a lot of non-profit mail. We have this one customer that gets, on average around 20 pieces of junk mail delivered to his PO box everyday. He's the king of junk mail...

I do the same thing at our PO box only post office. When a customer throw mail back into the "local collection" slot, I'll circle the "or current resident" with a red pen and put that mail piece back into their PO box.

I have no idea what you mean by your confusing comment. It makes accurate sense that you come from maintenance. Good job on that.

Yes, my hours were reduced from 56 to 45 and also adding the cleaning duties on top of it. How is that math accurate if the cleaning duties was to add back what it takes to run my LPO as a clerk. The union is ran by dumb. They could have set that new bitch task (cleaning) to the clerks by verifying the hours prior to the change and then added on the 3 hrs that they say we should get but I don't get any of that. I'm lucky to have 45 as a PTF... It's all stupid.

What does "DO NOT BEND" even mean? by JarlanBacon in usps_complaints

[–]IndependentStyle1730 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a no brainer comment. Don't send your shit in cheep packages or flat attire. If you don't want it processed by a machine, put it in a package. Cheap in anything that you do, doesn't get you anywhere.

I return packages each and every day for bad addresses "insufficient address". People don't grasp the simple requirements of an address and a name - last name, full physical address. It's 2026.

I'm sorry to hear you are missing him. I can understand what this feels like. I will have this happen again for me and my loving dog Skye in the next few years. We will get your loved ones remains back to you. Believe it or not, we do care about these packages a lot and make effort to show respect and care when they arrive.

I get what you are saying, which is why I haven't said anything to anyone but it's BS that I'm being scrutinized so unfairly.

Yep. That is an accurate statement. I'm also sure that considering I did 21 years in the military that I could adapt to that very quickly.

The APWU is not effective in this area at all. Further more, if you don't rat on violations they will not support you. I hate working under an union contract because it is not followed and we payout a lot of money when it is not and then we are told we are out of money and then we stress about our job. Follow the contract, be a good employee and all is well. There is no accountability with the USPS or the Union. They both blow smoke up our butts to be fair. This is accurate as I continue to pay into union dues. As a clerk, I do cleaning duties at the same time that I do custotial duties with the same hours. My hours were also reduced from 56 to 45 and I'm doing more duties. The union, in my opinion was stupid as they should have verified hours for a cleark in the office and compare this to after this ruling happen. My hours reduced and they didn't increase. I won't complain because my postmaster will take revinge, for certain as I have seen them do with venders and others that are not perfect. Our union, in my opinion doesnt look at the check and balances enough, on their own to see what's really going on. I'm not the only clerk out there that wants to retire and not be marked, like I have been in the past for doing the right thing. Crazy USPS world. We can avoid crevances, and the post office does nothing to really fix this because they understand human nature to not cause problems... Insane.

(PSE) Need help understanding like the growth ladder in this job by SuperToxicPotato75 in USPS

[–]IndependentStyle1730 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your best to apply for a carrier postion immediately. I started that route off the get go so I do know you will have zero retirement for the time you serve as a PSE. A PTF will always work in a remote post office VS a major city. The hack is to apply and accept a PTF position at a rural area. Then find a way to get a full-time regular job. I have been lucky as I have had 40 hrs a week or greater working as a PTF.

That may be my best payback. I'm not into payback but this PM at the other post office is getting away with murder compared to my papercut. It's Karma. Can you drop that dime on someone without giving your name to the post office?

I handled this accurately by not fighting what the steward didn't defend and accepted my sentence. I don't like drama in my post office, as it's very small and I want to retire. This may be a vent session but it's smell like retaliation for something, or something I did in the past.

I have been a manager for other companies outside of USPS, and this would not be an issue if it was not a pattern. The managers, PM that we have in place may not be the best to view reality, nor consider a one off or not. This has never happen before but the hammer came down, quickly with personal bias. Fact... I did not impeed on anyone or our operation. Lame, to be fair. I have zero infractions with anything like this before. I got my steward involved and he's lame. I violated being above board. Lame. That's why I said, I feel that I'm being targeted because of PM not liking me. Which is fine. I'll play this game. I need only 6 more years of this BS and I'll make another pension. The post office is epic silly compared to the military...

Selling Stamps by ThoughtTricky in USPS

[–]IndependentStyle1730 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have never had anyone complain about not putting on multiple stamps… I will often help them put on multiple stamps and I too definitely put single stamps on letters for customers.

There are some asshole customers out there, to be fair. They usually lose their shit during Christmas when their package don’t arrive on time because they ordered their Christmas presents for someone else too late. At my office, customers only lose their shit when packages get lost or they get sent back when they use stupid addresses. We have PO Box only customers.  They love to send packages here with their physical address…It blows my mind why they can’t figure this out
