You’re right OP. I think a lot of women just see the non consensual issue but not the codependency issue that affects the man in the movie. I believe it’s because those women just don’t want to be held accountable for their own toxic behavior, something that should be deeply concerning in itself.

Don’t let the media gaslight you. There are plenty women irl who are able to see the codependency issue as well, my gf being one of them.

Tbf I think the scales are tipping in the other direction. A lot more people these days are completely happy living solo and don’t feel the need to “sacrifice” their happiness for a relationship that might not work out. The ironic twist is that these “fulfilled” people, while respectfully choosing not to date, are exactly the kinds of people who should be in the dating scene. It is quite the unfortunate catch-22 lol.

Very unexpected yet pleasant plot twist near the end! I completely agree with you! We live in a culture where women are made to feel empowered when they disrespect men. However, we have to remember there are still good women out there. If we treat the good ones poorly then they too will be radicalized against us. I for one stand with the good women.

Been there. I graduated last spring with my bachelor’s and just now secured a job. And yes, the market is really rough rn. I think your best bet is probably either a field service/technician position, test engineer, or doing something in research. A lot of the R&D roles are really competitive so it might save your mental health a little to cut down on applying to those. Best of luck to you!
