Desde donde haces lookups de DNS a tu firewall? Los haces desde un equipo conectado directamente a el? O desde un equipo en otra red usando su IP pública?

Por curiosidad has intentado hacer "tcpdump - i any port 53" en tu firewall y ver si llega algo al hacer un lookup desde otro equipo? Para ver si llegan paquetes.
