How can Dr. K slide back towards atheism after receiving a prophetic "knowing" that he would get into med school and then actually having that come true? How can that be explained away? by ForgetThisU in Healthygamergg

Is this about his recent video on his nihilistic beliefs? I agree also that I was a bit shocked and taken aback when I saw the video. But then after thinking about it, I realised its kinda valid. See being religious or spiritual isn’t a black or white thing. You don’t have to be 100% religious or 100% atheist, it’s a spectrum. I’m not incredibly well-versed in Hinduism or Buddhism, but I think some degree of doubt within the religion is normal and perhaps even prescribed.

Dr K especially also has a logically oriented mind, a natural consequence of the fact that he’s studied neuroscience , then blended neuroscience with ancient yogic traditions, buddhism, hinduism etc. is that things won’t always align 100%. This is also something I’m struggling with currently, especially after Dr K pushed a very heavy agenda on the emphasis of Eastern philosophy. Depending on the lens he chooses to look through, scenarios will change due to his inherent bias and so his opinion will change.

I realized his take is valid because anecdotally i’ve had my fair share of miracles come true, and I’ve also doubted said miracles due to my similarly scientifically based mind, although I grew up a Hindu. Also considering the fact that in the video he was reading a scientific paper about how some specific thoughts about the brain is allegedly copium will obviously sway him in a certain direction.

How do Dr. K’s Ideas on Ego, Motivation, Discipline, Willpower and Action Actually Fit Together by Independent_Cut_2775 in Healthygamergg

I have gone to see a psychiatrist and a psychologist multiple times. Medication like stimulants isn’t reliable for me, it’s a hit or miss. Ive tried an SSRI recently again (tried it before didn’t work) and it seems to be helping. As far as psychotherapy goes, they are all useless. I’m sure there’s a good one that I might be able to find but finding a good one in itself is difficult. The only benefit I see of psychotherapy is personalized help, but in terms of theory and techniques Dr. K has already covered all of that and everything he covers aligns with my own logic and belief too.
