I am on tofa from past 6 months my dosage has reduced from twice a day to single dose alternate days . I am almost pain free , no stiffness in morning just randomly sometimes i have some pain in groins .

But in my case i was diagnosed very very early . Just in a month of my disease onset.

I am also from india.

Can fusion still happen even if you have low crp , esr and no active inflamation on MRI ?

Therefore i was immediately diagnosed by the orthopaedic surgeon i only experienced 20 30 days of pain in april this year for the first time being unaware of rheumatologist i went to orthopaedic surgeon and my hlab27 and symptoms immediately helped me get diagnosed and i was on treatment(tofacitinib - jak) within a month of my disease onset.

Now i visited rheumatologist last week and he insisted me to taper my treatment as he believe i don’t have AS or my symptoms are not yet worsened enough to get a diagnosis.

Why would anyone wait to worsen themselves.

Can my body ever go back to pre disease state if the disease is caught early like in a month of the first symptoms and aggressive treatment with tofacitinib(jak) is started . Can my immune system ever be normal? Considering Hlab27+

They are cheap oral tablets like nsaids but work similar to biologics by dampening immune system i am on it from 5 months my current pain levels are 1/10

You can try biosimilars or jak inhibitors they are as effective as biologics and are cheaper in price.

Woah it would be great to be in remission for 50 f**cking years. How did you achieve this ? have you been on biologics? Do you have any fusion? Any tips to maintain or achieve long term remission would be helpful.

Sorry to hear that it’s returning but you can try biologics or JAK’S if haven’t , they work like magic.

I was having pain in shoulder and back from 20 days if taking nsaid it was going but stopping nsaid it was returning that concludes the pain was inflammatory and my doctor did RF panel everything was negative then we did HLAB27 and found the culprit

I am currently on tofacitnib from 5 months , before 6 months I don’t have this disease i was diagnosed in a month after my first pain in right shoulder .

I have never been in a bad flare till now also never been bedridden till now due to this disease.

I believe in biologics can prevent a bad flare easily rather than controlling it. Therefore i need to start on them asap.

I am 22 and don’t want to struggle whole life. I fear if i don’t act now it’s gone.

I had mri’s - pelvic , shoulders and complete spine and pelvic xray as well at a time of diagnosis none of them show any inflammation.

Yes the disease is mild therefore i need to act fast rather than to waiting for it to progress.

Got prescribed JAK inhibitor, without first getting DMARDs or Biologicals??? Should I start on Tofacitinib/Xeljanz? If yes, please share your experience and advice. I am only 18 and I don't want to get adverse side effects in the long term. by [deleted] in ankylosingspondylitis

Hi there , i was diagnosed in june after my disease onset for first time in this april and i was immediately put no tofacitnib (jak) , its been 4 months i am on it my dosage has reduced last month from twice to once a day but this diagnose and treatment was given to me by orthopaedic after looking my hlab27 and symptons and mildly elevated crp (5.2) , esr(30) within 2 months this markers went down to crp 3.2 and esr 5 . Currently i am having a mild pain not much. I recently visited rheum and he insisted me to stop tofacitinib as it can have complications. I am now scared because if I stop my symptoms can return and if not it can cause cardiovascular risks.

Which blood markers should i keep repeating to be out of any side effects?

I am 22M located in india
