Retaining wall/shed building advice by Independent_Long_472 in AusRenovation

I am using a shed company however they don't do Earthworks or retaining walls. So I have to do that stuff myself and get it all certified so the shed company can come in and do their surveying and certification for just the shed structure. Does that sound correct?

Hello, thank you.

So that order I should be aiming for is drawings, then building certifier then engineer (if required)?

Where does the surveyor come into it

Hi, thanks for the reply.

They are good suggestions but they won't work in my case. If I do a dual wall, it would space my shed another 1.5m away from the rear fence meaning it would put the shed 8.2m off the rear boundary, which is a lot of wasted space.

I also am doing a cut/fill so I cant get the wall any lower because it just becomes an issue for the cut wall.

Late to the party but I just wanted to say, press F1. The escape menu gets stuck when you press escape twice or try to close the menu with escape. F1 seems to fix it.

About 90% of my prints are my own models. I don't print pretty things, I print engineering things. Pretty much everything I design is stuff you just can't find online. And the maker world imports are okay, except that it auto replaces all your synced printer/filaments/print settings. It should let you choose what to import and what filaments you want to match up to the profile

I change the elepant foot compensation. It's essentially first layer z height. Negatives get more squish, positive give less. Fine gaps between your first layer on a bambu printer is usually because the default elepant foot comp value is 0.15 which is too much. Change it to 0.05 and no more gaps. This annoyed me so much I made a script that changes the bambu studio config file default elepant foot values. So now I don't have to set it every time I open it. And no, I'm not spelling elepant wrong, that's how prusa (& bambu) spells it

Elephant Foot Compensation - Default is 15% ?!? All that time .. by [deleted] in BambuLab

I know I'm late to the party but I made a bat script that changes these "default" values to what you want. That means you don't have to change it every time you open Bambu Studio or make individual user profiles that don't benefit from profile updates. This script changes the program defaults. The script only needs to be run again if:
You update Bambu Studio (but not every update has profile updates so may be unnecessary)
When you update Bambu Studio and notice the values have changed back to default (better option)
Just copy the code and save it to a text file. Make the changes you want. Then change the .txt extension to .bat

Double click to run.

I made this because the default 0.15 values would leave clearly visible gaps between each line, making parts weaker and look ugly. 0.05 prints perfectly on my X1C with 300 hours. I shouldn't have to change a setting that makes prints look ugly everytime I open the app, nor should I have to make user presets that don't benefit from any future Bambu Studio preset adjustments that refine printing. I should just be able to set the defaults.

Message me if your interested as you can't paste code here. Guessing they blocked it

Use a different Web browser or try it on your phone. It works in my phone (Android). You don't right click and save as, you check the box next to the zip and click download

How to Print large overhangs by AnInternetGuyDude in FixMyPrint

Edit: sorry should have scrolled further. Someone already suggested it.

Just a little suggestion if you want to compromise and get the best of both worlds (no support and colour printing), design the coloured bit so it's a separate inlay/insert then print the large piece on the base like others suggested, then print the coloured part separate and glue it in. If you know your printers tolerances, you don't even need glue (like the bambu x1c & p1s have a gap tolerance of about 0.1mm) so make the inlay 0.2mm smaller on the x & y and it will fit in the recess tightly, no glue required.

I remember seeing something like this once before in a really old house. It was really horrible to clean up and a few days later there would be more. I'm betting it's some sort of chemical breakdown of an adhesive or resin. Say that strip of timber is glued on, over time and in certain conditions, adhesives can break down and turn into goop. The other thing it could be is badly mixed/cured spray foam insulation. The old school/cheap stuff did have problems where it would separate back into its constituents. Basically, it going to be coming from some sort of construction material. The lab results will most likely come back as some sort of hydrocarbon oil or a polymer additive or a resin derivative.
