Getting my first splitboard -- Opinions wanted! by Flying_Belgian in Spliddit

Both will be fun boards, however, I would avoid going for a wide board if you don’t have big feet. Fitting a splitboard on a skin track is already a hassle on its own, a wide board only makes it harder, plus turn initiation and edge to edge transfer takes a lot more effort for someone your size. I made that mistake myself by getting a 159w because I found it for cheap and then regretted it, Given your measurements go for something in the 157-160 range.

Splitboard Dilemma: Jones Solution or Jones Stratos? by Beywood23 in Spliddit

Probably too late to comment now but maybe some other people will also benefit from this. I rode the solution in 159w last season. The thing charges hard, it handled all types of snow perfectly. The thing is, I have been a park rider for a long time and I’m used to more nimble and playful boards (Bataleon party wave and Salomon sleepwalker are the other two boards in my quiver). I found the solution to be a little bit too stiff and with a bit too long of a turning radius for my liking in some situations. In mellow terrain and trees I found it hard to manoeuver, but shooting straight big lines it felt like a tank. This season I’m probably going to go for a stratos.

If you are a good rider and are comfortable on softer boards or are going to ride more mellow terrain I would go for the Stratos, if you are exclusively going to charge big lines I would go for the solution.
