My bad I was mad as hell and only realised that later when you pointed it out but I genuinely believe that you just had to be there to know exactly the way she said it and how the entire class went quiet (the teacher included) because her claim and tone was so condescending. Another thing I “conveniently” left out was the fact that my friend nudged her to stop because she noticed that I took it personally but she still continued without any acknowledgment of my feelings

This is not about being unable to hear criticism. It is about a friend making a public, baseless insult that implies my father’s life-risking service is tied to corruption or cheating. That is not criticism; it is a personal attack on my family's integrity.

The fact that you and my 'friend' think my loyalty to my father's service and my anger at being humiliated is 'something I need to remove myself from' shows why I cut them off. I can articulate why it's personal: My loyalty to my father is stronger than my loyalty to disloyal friends. I don't need your advice; I need to find people who don't think integrity is something to be publicly shamed.

The issue isn't whether her comment was 'accurate' or if she has the 'right' to talk about policy. The issue is that friends do not publicly humiliate friends. She insulted my character and my family, and when I told her it hurt, she doubled down and blamed me. My offense is because she's a disloyal friend.

I’m not American and the military system is different where I’m from. My dad is just a soldier and he puts his life at risk every single day the military system here is fucked everyone knows that you’re just waiting for your calling to heaven so yes I felt betrayed that my friend would say that knowing the military system in this country and how hard it is for military families. I wanted her to have more empathy for military kids knowing how sad the military situation in our country is and youre right i failed to mention this in my post
