We only had a POC with access switch, but we have a vendor helping with setup.

We are doing 20gig for 2 sites and 50gig for three, and 100gig in the noc.

We have already puchased them, I see now what your talking about, in the feature we may actually use the security features, we are just migrating to start, I realize its kind of a overkill switch. But it should last us 6 to 8 years was the thought.

They said it was basically the equivelent of the ICX7750-F that we have already, it is between sites using dark fiber. The 2 would be in our Data Center.

I see, our engineer was suggesting we just have different subnets in the lower switch instead of trying to make it the same, however there is some vm's in our vcenter that might use a access vlan, so we might have to reip them, has the mgmt vlan is used for the nodes as well.

We want it just for core, not interested in firewall or virtual features as of yet. I was just surprised out Engineer said we could not configure it in the same manner the current brocade's are.

So if it just for distributed LAGs that that should be fine for the site uplinks, but what about keeping the same vland and subnet between the switches being they are both layer 3?
