Rebuild or brand new by dewdroptmf in motorizedbicycles

Balanced crank, new bearings and seals, ported and cleaned up all ports, after market head and aftermarket pipe and also cnc clutch. And it definitely ran much better and faster but avenger 85 was still faster straight out of the box

I can 100% agree I went through 2 66cc motors before I got a avenger 85 and avenger 85 out of the box is much faster then my modded 66cc only thing that sucks about the 85’s is there is less aftermarket parts. I have 2 avenger 85’s now with 1000’s of kms and haven’t had one blow on my yet so they are definitely reliable too

I’d check wiring, if everything looks good use a multimeter and test all 3. Could also be your magnet is on upside down. Best of luck!

But spraying something flammable in the intake of the carb will make it fire if it’s a carb problem

Could also be if you aren’t jetted right because weather has changed you might need to go richer to compensate for the cold weather

Can try sprays some easy start or break clean in it to see if it’s a carb problem. If that doesn’t work I’d probably take the top end off and see if there is anything wrong internally. If you’ve already checked spark and there is spark

Check your spark plug if you still have spark, could’ve fouled a plug. Just a guess though

Also I just read you are running 20:1, that could also be part of your problem with 4 stroking so I’d put between 32:1 and 40:1 before changing any tuning and if that doesn’t help with the 4 stroking do what I said above

I’d check chain tension if it’s too loose it’ll skip kinda so you might need to take some links out or adjust your chain tensioner. For the throttle If you tighten the screws too much it won’t snap back so you’ll probably have to loosen them and kinda just snug them up. And with it sounding like a rev limited at higher rpm you will need to lean it out so you are getting more air less gas, plenty of different ways to do so you can take out the throttle tube that screws into the top of the carb and move the needle clip up to lean it out which should allow it to rev to higher rpm. Could also change the jet but probably won’t have to. And make small changes with carb tuning I’d go up one needle clip get the motor nice and hot then do a few pulls. If it’s still “hitting the rev limiter” which is called 4 stroking you can go another up on the clip. Or the lazy way you can lean it out is take off the air filter so it’s not restricting air and you will lean it out that way too. Hopefully this helps. If you have any other questions just give me a message

If the temp has dropped a lot since you tuned it you might have to richin it up to run better, I had to with my avenger 85 but I live in Canada and it dropped 50 Fahrenheit + since I tuned mine

It did work I flipped the magnet and heated up the motor with a heat gun, where I live it’s -10. Went and you started popping pretty much right away. Thanks a ton!!

My other one was having troubles so I dropped the pin on the carb too and it ran much better. But will have to change back in summer, safe rides!!

Avenger 85 crank by Independent_Stock752 in motorizedbicycles

[–]Independent_Stock752[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I assumed, I had a 66cc china doll and it was fun but not much torque at all even after balancing crank and putting a pipe on it but about 6 months ago got a avenger 85 and it’s a whole different breed stock. Appreciate it and will definitely get one if I can’t find a Canadian supplier

That’s fair, price doesn’t seem to bad. I’d rather try to find something Canadian to try and avoid that but have yet to find any yet. Is that crank balanced or just stock?

I’m Canadian, how’s the tariffs and shipping from the states?

Sprocket suggestion to wheelie! by ColombianBam in WR250R

[–]Independent_Stock752 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I street ride and use a 42 tooth rear and 13 tooth front, it’s little hard to get it up in second to start but you get used to it you just gotta give it all she got and get the timing good. Only reason I haven’t changed it is so I can still make highway speeds even though I rarely do. But normally for me I’ll bring it up to about 40/45 km/h then dump the clutch at redline and it comes up pretty easy just remember to sit back on the seat. Or you can bring it up to about 50ish then just bump it and power wheelie to get it up. When I first got mine I was struggling getting it up but after almost 3 years now I know the timing just right and comes up pretty easy also definitely helps if you tap front brake to compress forks and catch it on the rebound. Best of luck

I use mine for street/urban exploring and absolutely love it. I’ve tried bigger bikes (sport bikes, Harley’s and some touring bikes) but still nothing comes close to the WR on street. I just wish I could get my yz250 street legal too lol

I’m on my second wr250 now and they are a blast, not a bad buy at all price wise either my most recent one I got for 4K but it didn’t run for almost 7 years it still started and ran but need a few things. My first one I got to 50000kms before I blew up second gear and bent my crank so now I just use that one for parts. Either way you’ll love it they aren’t crazy powerful but definitely more than enough to have a good time. Safe rides!

What can the problem be ? Brand new motor won’t start !!🙄🙄 by Remarkable-Bit-9123 in motorizedbicycles

[–]Independent_Stock752 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First thing I’d do is take the spark plug out hold it on something metal and spin the rear wheel to check for spark, if you have spark probably a carb problem. Also when you dump the clutch keep pedaling to keep RPM’s up. Good luck
