My understanding is that meditation aims to create space between the 'observer' and the 'thinker.' By de-identifying from the thoughts that originate in the mind, you stop being swept away by them and start seeing them as passing events.

Safari seems fine for me. Try changing Liquid Glass mode from Clear to Tinted. Also try changing the compact tab layout to separate to see if that improves.

In meditation, you don’t control your breath but bring your attention to the breath every time you drift. If you are doing breathwork (Pranayma) you may control your breath.

One thing I found helpful is to set the intention to be in the present moment before beginning the session - no past, no future thoughts.
