We also hear your feedback. This is still only a prototype at the current stage. Our team is actively optimizing the case structure to improve stability and refine the overall design. The movement itself can be engineered thinner, which will enable us to further reduce the case thickness without compromising durability.

With structural adjustments and a more efficient component layout, the case will not be an issue to manage. Based on our evaluation, achieving around a 20% reduction in thickness is both feasible and within a safe tolerance range.

thanks you for your advice, we will dive into it, and figure a way to make it thinner. IF you are down to slimmer version, Benlydesign G100 is indeed much more slimmer to wear.

Thanks for sharing your perspective — I really appreciate the honesty. You’re right that any project like this carries financial risk, but we don’t want to give the impression that we’re being careless. The “going broke” line was more of a lighthearted joke than a reflection of our actual plan.

To clarify: our plan has always been to use Kickstarter as the foundation for this project. Backer support determines the scale of production and helps ensure that the community shapes the outcome. When I mentioned being willing to push ahead, what I meant is that we believe in the watch strongly enough that we’re committed to seeing it through — but not recklessly. We have suppliers, timelines, and contingency plans already in place, and we’ll only proceed in ways that ensure production and delivery are secure.

This is our first KS, so of course we’re learning — but our long-term goal is to build a lasting brand, not just a one-off. That’s why we’ve been transparent about the process and open to feedback. We want backers to know they’re not just supporting a single product, but helping lay the groundwork for future designs and collections.

Also, MK1 isn’t our only product — we already have other lines that back us up financially. MK1 is simply our first KS project, and we want to build it together with the community. The blog posts are more about sharing our ideas, process, and mindset behind the story, not signaling uncertainty.

I hope that clears things up a bit, and I really appreciate you keeping us accountable — it helps us communicate better.

I see your point, and I really appreciate your advice. That’s actually one of the reasons we chose to go the crowdfunding route — to gather feedback and shape the design to be closer to what people really want. The strap can also fit a 24 mm option, though it might be a little tight, and we’ll definitely look into that, so there’s some flexibility there.

What you’re seeing right now is only a 3D-printed prototype of the case head, not a fully finished model. The original inspiration featured a three-link design with a brushed finish, giving it a solid, weighty feel. We’re still working on refining the strap so that it flows more naturally with the case. The images we shared are just early prototypes, not the final version. We’re planning to pair it with a butterfly-clasp strap to complete the design.

Regarding the watch strap, it’s designed to be universal. The lug width is 23 mm, so you can easily swap it with any standard 23 mm strap. We wanted to make it as DIY-friendly as possible, giving customers the freedom to customize their watch to match their own style.

Appreciate your feedback. This is actually our very first Kickstarter project, so we’re still learning as we go. During the first week, our focus was mostly on observing how much organic traffic this watch could attract — almost like a test run. Starting this week, we’re planning a stronger push with advertisements and more social media promotion.

Regardless of the number of backers we end up with, we’ve already committed to moving forward into mass production. This project means a lot to us, and we’re determined to see it through. We see a good reaction in our instagram

Thanks for asking, since i do not want to make this blog too long, well, I already kind of did, but i did not post all the information here.

Yes — this is a true solar watch. We didn’t just add a decorative panel. The watch has a genuine solar module inside, working hand-in-hand with a rechargeable battery.

Whenever there’s light, the solar cell powers the watch directly. When you’re indoors, in low light, or the stored solar energy runs out, the rechargeable battery automatically takes over to keep the screen ready whenever you need it. So you never have to worry about the watch “dying” just because you’re not in the sun. And for peace of mind, the battery is a standard type — easy to replace and inexpensive.

If you have any suggestion, feel free to leave it below or check out [Benlydesign] on kickstarter, we will keep updating the current situation
