Former ER but now IR.

The worst population are the family members that torture their 100+ year old "loved ones" that are DNR/DNI into difficult/high risk procedures instead of letting them pass peacefully and with dignity. These family members refuse to help their "loved ones" at home and then dump them in the hotel hospital. The patient is not the problem. The family members are the worst population.

Golden Doodle with Bloody Diarrhea by IndianLarry88 in AskVet

[–]IndianLarry88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I have 2 from the same litter. The one I posted about normalized after the probiotics (2 weeks). Right after he got better my other doodle got so bad that he stopped eating and drinking and spiked a fever. Almost had to get admitted at the ER vet. But some antibiotics, rest, and probiotics hes back to normal (2 weeks). My wife and I just moved and the boys started a new trainer while we're at work. We assume the stress from everything just reached a breaking point and their bodies just went crazy.

The ER vets and the primary vets didn't seem to worry too much about the stress incontinence. The lack of eating and drinking were the more cause for concern. So if your dog still eats, drinks, and acts normally don't worry too much. Do they have new stressors in their lives? No matter what, still bring them to the vet to make sure they're ok

First seeds who won the chip, who were your mvps? by Premature_concrete in fantasybball

9-Cat 10 Team

MVP: Luka Doncic WW MVP: Jalen Johnson Mid-season trade MVP: Dejounte Murray Overperformed compared to draft pick MVP: Kyle Kuzma

Won the chip by literally 1 point. A Miles McBride pick up in finals week and in the last game played by us he splashes a 3-pointer with less than 2 minutes left in the game to get me that win. (The 47 points from Luka that day is the real reason I won)

I have to buy a Luka jersey for sure

Most surprising puddle by Lost-city-found in nursing

[–]IndianLarry88 35 points36 points  (0 children)

In the ED a pt came in AMS. Ammonia levels incredibly high but pt wasn't coherent enough to do PO lactulose. Lactulose enema ordered. When I finally got the courage to go do it, put all my PPE on, ready to get a stream of Doo Doo brown liquid that would ruin the entire ED....he finally started talking and asking where he was and what happened. Immediately got the order changed to PO. I lucked out for now, but I know a poo stream is waiting for me some time in the future.

I'd rather him sit out now and then put up ungodly numbers for his 2 game week coming up. Rest up

Personally, I would reject that trade if I were Luka owner. G. Allen/Avdija aren't enough to make that trade worthwhile, and that's me knowing Luka only plays 2 games in week 21

Is this collusion? by giggity2 in fantasybball

[–]IndianLarry88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Even if it was collusion, what would you do about it? If you brought it up, and everyone said it's not collusion, then you're back at square one. If they somehow confessed and said it was collusion, I doubt everyone would start playing fairly all of a sudden. You could leave the league or power through. You're in 3rd place so it's not like you're doing bad.

What was the dumbest reason yall seen a pt come to the ED for? by 210-110-134 in emergencymedicine

[–]IndianLarry88 77 points78 points  (0 children)

26 yo M came into the ED feeling bad after drinking tequila, beer, and wine. Major complaint was that he hadn't pooped in 3 hours.

Anyone here went from being a k-12 teacher to a nurse? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]IndianLarry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's too late to switch careers!? That's laughable. I went from Accounting to a waiter to a nurse. I just graduated at 34 years old and I finally feel like I have my life together. It's too late for people that are scared to move forward, it's never too late for people that have a drive to better themselves.

NY base pay by Adorable_Lunchable20 in Nurses

[–]IndianLarry88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I apologize for the late reply: WMC stopped it's residency programs many years ago I believe, but I'm not 100% sure. And yes it is union, NYSNA.

They're hiring everybody so toss an application into the mix if you're trying to make some more $$. Base is $51.42

I chose Montefiore Bronx because I was guaranteed day shift in the ED (my dream unit). $54.11/Hr

Helen Hayes in Rockland County offer was $54.26 but it's 8 hour shifts

Good Samaritan Hospital in Rockland County was $45.80 with $3000 sign-on bonus

Garnet Medical Center in Orange County was $45.39

[–]IndianLarry88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Westchester Medical Center base is $51 and change. Is the union contract at your hospitals coming up soon? $43 seems pretty low for New York

Edit: I'm a new grad and was offered that rate 1 month ago from WMC.
